"Rho? Rhona, wake up please." I hummed when I heard Eric's voice, I was not in the mood. Why was he in the girl's room anyway?
"For God's sake, do you want me to punch you awake?"
"There will be no punching," I heard Jordan say in the background. I smiled, he was the sweetest. I decided to open my eyes at last, after Mark ran in shouting. "It's him, it's him," he chanted. I sat up and frowned. "Who?"
"Axel, we found him, we found him, yehes!" I immediately lost my need to sleep. I quickly jumped up with a grin. "Really? That's amazing," I said happily.
"Not so fast." I looked at the door opening and saw the coach. "We just heard a rumor about a flame striker, there is no guarantee that it's Blaze." I thought about it. There was a big chance it was him, but Axel wasn't the only one with flame hissatsu's. I watched the excited team pack their bags. No, I wasn't going to ruin their happiness. Besides, it was probably our Axel anyway.
"Alright, let's go!"
For some reason, Darren joined us. Not that I was complaining, he was adorable. The boy told us all about his family. I turned my head to Jordan who sat next to me, there was a hint of sadness in his black eyes.
"Are you alright?" I asked softly. He nodded, but he wasn't very convincing with his watery eyes. Jordan was more tired and emotional than usual because of his medication, and it was absolutely heartbreaking. I gave him a kiss on his forehead, and he closed his eyes.
"I'm sorry," Jordan whispered, "I don't know what's wrong with me." I took his hand. "Don't be ridiculous, nothing's wrong" I said with a smile. The corners of his mouth turned up, and I sighed relieved. "Family," he whispered when we continued listening to Darren. It was all he said the entire drive.
Once we were on the boat, heading to Okinawa, I realized that I had seven missed calls from an anonymous number. I knew who it had to be, and so I deleted the threats. But then I got called over and over again, it was incredibly annoying. I just wanted to enjoy the sea view.
"I don't have time for this, you creep," I told T when I answered.
"Rhona DiLauris?" I recognized the voice as...
"Zel?" Jordan, who was chatting with Nathan and Jude, looked at me. Mark also overheard me. "Yes, it's me. I've come to the realization that a piece of information I own, should be shared with you, together with an explanation of my actions towards y-"
"Stop stalling," I heard Dvalin hiss in the background.
"I am also a victim of T's cruel behavior." I had to let that dawn on me for a couple of seconds. Was that why he visited me in T's name, was he being blackmailed? I wondered how Zel was forced to stalk me.
"Oh wow," I only said. "Yeah," the usually confident boy said awkwardly. "So, you remember the Janus-clone?" I hummed. "Yeah, Diam. What about him?" I sighed. "Don't tell me he went back to Alius."
"What? No!" There was a pause, and I swore that I heard Dvalin sigh. "Alright alright," Zel whispered at the other ex-alien. "I meant the other one, the Janus that Jordan saw. I..." I rolled my eyes, this guy was taking forever.
"I think it might've been T."
I dropped my phone into the sea.
"Really, Rhona?" I heard Nelly say in the background. Was it possible that it was really him? I didn't know how Zel came up with that idea, but now I couldn't ask him anymore. I just had to wait for another call on somebody else's phone.
"Well, are you going to tell us about the conversation or what?"
"Zel, he thinks fake Janus was T." I heard some talking around me, but I wasn't paying attention. Was he the one that caught Jordan escaping? I didn't really understand it. This meant that T worked with, or for Alius. But there was no point in that, why threaten a random schoolgirl? Especially one that didn't even play football back then, it just wasn't useful for Alius.
"... Are you even listening?" I looked at an irritated Nelly. "Of course."
For the rest of the boat trip, we tried to come up with theories about T's motives.
"Axel, where are you?" Mark yelled the moment we arrived at the dock. I sighed, this boy was hopeless. Nathan watched him with a raised eyebrow. "Sometimes I wonder what would've happened to him if he wasn't into football," he said with a sigh. "You and me both."
Once we arrived, the coach ordered us to rest at our temporary bedrooms. The point was, nobody was tired. And so I got an idea.
"We should contact Gemini and Epsilon," I told the others after we gathered in the boy's bedroom. Nelly snorted. "Are you joking? Coach Lina would never allow us to do that. Besides, we don't have their phone numbers." I nodded, she was right. "But they would be excellent training partners, don't you think? Not even Schriller can argue with that," I said.
And so we begged and begged until the coach finally gave in.
"Hey there guys," I said way too excitedly on the coach's phone once we called them, "guess what?"
"You want to train with us," Dvalin stated after I told him our plan. He sounded as if he thought we were crazy. I nodded as if he could see that. "Yeah, that's the plan," I repeated.
Mark snatched the phone out of my hand. "Come, please? It'll be fun," he begged, "please?" And so we convinced them to come. I had never been this happy to see the Epsilon players. But despite his presence, Zel and I never spoke. We just wanted one day without the stalker's tricks and games.
