It was a stormy Tuesday in April, and Jordan didn't like it at all. Together with Claude, he was hiding in a blanket fort.
'It's not like I'm scared,' the redhead stuttered, 'I just thought that you needed some emotional supp- AAGH!' The thunder got louder and louder. 'A-anyway, as I said-' It's okay,' Jordan interrupted, 'i-it's okay to be scared. I am too.' Claude looked at the boy next to him, his normally tanned face was paler than Xavier's. 'I'm not afraid,' he muttered, but when he saw the lightning between the gaps of the blankets and pillows, he shivered. 'Yes you are, but it's normal! We're only nine!'
Then they saw the shadow of a person. 'Can I come in?' a familiar voice asked hesitantly. 'Of course!' Bryce entered the hut and looked around. 'Nice.' Then he saw the big fridge. 'How did you get that in?' he wondered. 'We got it from the kitchen,' Claude explained. 'They let you do that?' Jordan and Claude made eye contact. 'Well...' Jordan said with red cheeks. 'Oh no, don't tell me you sto-' 'Shhh!' Bryce sighed and opened it. 'Ooh, pie,' he said and grabbed the box. 'Where are the forks?' While Jordan was searching for a fork, Bryce realized something. 'Isn't this fridge supposed to be connected to an outlet?' Claude nodded. 'It is. Just like this tv and camping stove.' He frowned. 'Three plugs and a stove inside a blanket hut? Is that save?' Claude sighed. 'If you don't like it, then you should go. It's fine,' he said. If you say so.'
'Found it.' Jordan held three forks up. 'Alright then, let's make some cocoa.' He put some chocolate milk in the pan and put it on the little stove. 'How hot do you think it has to be?' Bryce shrugged. 'I don't know, maybe we should cook it on the highest stand, it'll be finished faster.' Jordan nodded. 'Let me do it,' Claude said and he turned the fire on. While they waited for the drinks to become hot, they ate the pie. Jordan sniffed. 'Do you guys smell that too?' They turned around and saw smoke coming off one of the pillows. 'Oh shit.'
5 minutes later:
'Why is the living room on fire you ask? Well, you see- funny story...' Jordan, Bryce and Claude looked anxious at each other, while the fostermother demanded an explanation. 'Lightning struck,' Jordan lied. She frowned, but then she smiled. 'You don't have to lie, it's my fault really. I didn't blow out the candles. The boys sighed in relief. Right after that, Bellatrix walked in. 'Mother, the fridge is gone.'
