Bridgett
Bridgett waited outside the Fox Hollow Gazette. It was getting late and she was beginning to think that she had already missed her, but Claire Bernett walked out of the building. She was brave being out this late.
The Fox Hollow Gazette had its own floor in a skyrise in Downtown and a security desk in the lobby, where the night guard returned after letting Claire out. Though this part of town was not as high risk at nightfall, there were still figures that lurked in the shadows.
She stayed across the street, keeping a distance from Claire, as she stalked the darkness. A bus pulled into a stop and Claire hopped on. She sat mid-way back on the right hand side. Bridgett got on and sat up front on the left, minding her own business.
The bus drove off, swaying the only two passengers it carried in a gentle lull. Bridgett looked at the large mirror above the driver, then out her window. The buildings slid out of view as if on a conveyor belt, though she wasn't paying much attention to the changing scenery. The lights were off inside the bus, but street lamps reflected on the window, giving her a view of Ms. Bernett behind her.
Bridgett watched her grab her purse and stand up, waiting for the bus to come to a stop. As the bus slowed, Claire waited by the door in the middle of the bus. It came to a hard stop, releasing the 'TSSS' from the air brakes as it did.
Claire walked down the street, re-adjusting her purse strap on her shoulder. Bridgett casually got off and followed at a distance. When Claire reached her apartment, Bridgett reached a payphone. One ring. Two rings. Three. "Hey, it's me. Yeah, I have that address for you."
