Bridgett

Lanz held the taxi door for Bridgett. She stepped out and turned to him, staring at his hand on the door frame. "Well, thanks for seeing me home. I'm just right there." She pointed to the building behind her.

"Get some rest. With everyone that answered us today, we should have a pretty good turnout tomorrow. I'm just going to visit one more friend. He doesn't have a phone, so I'll have to see him in person." He said and made his way back into the taxi.

Bridgett waved and stayed to watch the taxi drive off, then headed inside. Hopefully sleep would come, because she was feeling excited about what tomorrow would bring.

Inside her apartment, she turned on the television and tuned it to the news channel. She slipped her shoes off and went to brush her teeth. The picture was coming in fuzzy, so still brushing her teeth, she walked over to play around with the antenna. Banging on the side of it- finally -the picture cleared up enough. The reporter was giving a brief on the ongoing Vietnam war. The next story was local. Bridgett returned to the bathroom and rinsed the toothpaste out of her mouth. She listened as the reporter spoke of the ongoing investigation into the Rose Murders. Then it moved into a piece on the circus itself: "Mrs. Rossini has filed for divorce and is set to take the entire circus. She has no plans to continue the business and is entertaining offers to sell."

Bridgett sat on the edge of her bed. This was her doing. Her plan to take down Vivianne had an unexpected consequence that she should have foresaw. Dante loves the circus... I wonder how he's taking the news. I better find out. She would go out tonight as herself. Bridgett was good for fading into the background.
