Mahone
Stavo got back into the car. "Did you take your leak?" Mahone asked.
"Yeah, I took my leak. Thank you for asking. I went behind the dumpster back there."
"The dumpster." Mahone shook his head. "I offer you this, but no, you don't want to pee in a cup. You too good for peeing in a cup that you gotta go behind the dumpster." Mahone raised the aforementioned cup.
"I'm not gonna pee in a cup. Did I miss anything?" Stavo asked.
Mahone pointed out. "Lanz just left."
"Seems pretty close with your mystery girl."
Mahone rubbed his chin. "Yeah." They had been sitting in the car for hours, staking out Vito's restaurant. It was getting harder to sit still.
"Hey, how much longer are we gonna wait here?" Stavo asked. "The car is off, no air is circulating, I'm stuck in here with your farts."
"You gave me onions. Suffer the consequences."
"So how long? Vito already sent his kid out, we got Del La Rosa tailing him. The Captain's not going to like us being out here like this."
"We give the Captain something solid, he'll be fine. As far as how long, this is a stakeout. However long it takes. You never been on a stakeout before?"
"No." Stavo replied.
"You're kidding me? This is your first stakeout. This- here with me?"
"Yeah, is that a problem?" Stavo spoke in a curt tone. So what if this was his first stakeout. That didn't mean anything.
"No. it's not a problem. Just can't believe it, that's all. On the other hand, you peed behind a dumpster, so yeah, I can believe it."
"Again with the dumpster." Stavo rolled his eyes.
"Yeah again with the dumpster. Here's rule number one of any stakeout. Never leave the vehicle. Not ever, for any reason. One, you could blow your cover and two, you could miss something important."
"Like miss redhead over there." Stavo nodded toward the alley across the street.
"Where'd she come from?" Mahone mumbled, grabbing the binoculars. Stavo grabbed the camera and took pictures.
A red haired girl in a denim jumpsuit and headscarf came out cautiously from the shadows. Feeling as though it was clear, she entered Vito's restaurant.
Mahone searched the alley through his binoculars. "She could have emerged from either building. There's too much shadow over there."
"She's ordering something. Sitting alone." Stavo reported, still taking photos.
