Dawsey: Starting a Family Part 2

Chapter 208

Jay's POV: As I took over at the emergency medical station here at the firehouse, I felt both Erin and Antonio join me. "I just called Hank and told him what happened. He is going to call Med and send an extra doctor here. Probably Dr. Manning or Dr. Choi." I nodded and agreed with him when I felt Erin grab my hand. "How are you doing?" I then sighed and looked at her while intertwining our fingers. "Not the best. That was crazy. Heck, I am not even sure what happened. I just jumped into action." I then went to kiss her forehead while wrapping my arm around her.

Putting her hand on my cheek, Erin went to kiss me softly and just held me close. She must know I am scared for my brother and knew this would give me some comfort. "Listen, if you need me to call Hank and ask him to give you some time off...I will do that right now Jay." I then sighed when she said that before going to sit down. Sitting in my lap, Erin looked at me. "Jay, look at me and just relax. What do you want to do?" i sighed when she asked me and just went to hold her close. "We can't go home. I just checked the power and it's out in our neighborhood."

Erin nodded when I said that before going to cuddle up to me a bit more. "What do you say we find a place to relax in the house? I think I saw a couch somewhere we can sit on?" I then thought about it and agreed with her. "Severide said that we can use his office right?" That's when I saw the bells go off. It was just squad going out and Severide overheard us. "Yeah man, if you need to take a rest...you can go rest in my office. You might also want to change your shirt or at least wash it. You have a bit of blood here." I nodded when she said that and smiled.

"I already brought my bag inside. It's somewhere." That's when Gabby came back out and went to give me a bag. "This is for you. It was in our office. Can you read the names next time." I then laughed. "Sorry Gabby." Gabby nodded and agreed with me before walking away to go rest. Looking at Erin, I smiled at her and then went to kiss her shoulder softly. "Want to come help me change my shirt in the washroom? I have to wash this one anyways?" Erin smiled when I said that before going to put her hand on my neck, kissing me softly. "Antonio?"

Antonio then turned to look at us. "We are going to send the paramedics out to help you. I want to take a break and take a breather after just watching my brother get hurt. It's bringing up some memories when it happened to some of my brothers-in-arms in Afghanistan." Antonio felt back when I said that and nodded. "No sweat man, you go ahead and relax." I nodded and agreed with Erin as we both got up and make our way into the firehouse. Leading her to the bathrooms, I smiled because I was going to get a bit close to my girl before we went to cuddle in Severide's office.

NOTE TO READERS: Sorry for the short chapters recently. I am trying to write long ones but...I am just not able to use words to describe the plot I am trying to write. Now, I want to remind you that I am going to concentrate on Jay & Erin for a few chapters...this is because Matt, Gabby and Louie are resting/sleeping in his office. Well that and I like them as a couple. I promise though, I will get back to Matt, Gabby and Louie when they are awake again.
