Chapter 237

Matt's POV: After getting dressed, I came out to bed to see Gabby looking at the sonogram of our triplets side-by-side with the sonogram of our twins. Walking over to her, I then went to sit next to her before putting my hand next to her. "Hey, you okay?" Gabby then sighed and looked at me. "I guess I am just sad we lost another baby. I mean yeah, we still have these two but..." I then nodded and went to grab her hand. "It still hurts. I get it Gabby. We had a name for him and this time...it wasn't just a dream. He was in there and it was going to become a reality soon." 

Gabby nodded when I said that. "I already texted my mom. I told her the truth as to why I wanted her to watch Louie. She says she can keep him as long as we want her to." I nodded when she said that. "How long are you thinking?" Gabby shrugged. "I hate to say this but...I need time to get through this. Matt, it was so real to me. It wasn't just a possibility that we were having triplets. I felt them kick, I heard the heartbeat...it was our child." I nodded when she said that. "Listen, if you want me to try and undo my vasectomy...I will try my best to see if I can."

Gabby shook her head. "No, I think we'll be okay with 3 kids. This way, I can go back to Ambo someday. We said that I couldn't if we had triplets...but would you be okay if we had twins and Louie?" I thought about it and nodded. "I think I could be okay with that. Twins and Louie is manageable with us working those long shifts. Or, I can try and get it so that you can work day shifts. Honestly, I am going to try and see how much independence I can get. Maybe I can institute day shifts and nigh shifts at our house. What do you think about that?" 

Gabby looked at me when I said that. "Listen, that's further down the road. Like at least 8-10 months down the road. I am going to be giving birth in August now." I nodded when she said that. "Listen, today...I want to just take time for us. No sex, not too far. I want to just be us and talk okay? We are going to go through a lot of changes in the coming week. We are going to be at the firehouse a lot more, I am going to be a full-time chief and we are going to be grieving. Sure, we are happy that we are still pregnant but...we are also going to be grieving."

Gabby nodded when I said that. "I know baby, I am just glad we are together in this." I smiled when she said that before going to lean in and kiss her softly. "And we are going to be in this together for the rest of our lives...never think that is not going to be the case okay babe? I am here, in this with you for the rest of our lives. I have been here since the start of the pregnancy and I am not going anywhere. Heck, I have been in your fight to get Louie back since the start too. To think, we are still getting our dream life." Gabby smiled when I said that.

"You are amazing, you know that." I smiled and agreed with her. "Listen, I am going to get us some brunch. You want a sandwich or do you want eggs or something?" Gabby then smiled when I asked her that. "Can you combine the two and make me an egg sandwich? After that, I want to call Antonio and your sister okay? We can tell them together. I haven't told them yet because it's not my job to tell your sister. And I know that if I told Antonio..." I nodded when she said that. "You made the right call Gabby, don't doubt that. Now, I am going to go cook."

Gabby smiled when I said that and nodded. "Sounds good. Now, I am going to figure out how we tell the firehouse. Want to just do a big conference call or..." I then sighed when she said that. "We can call them individually. I would rather do that after we call the family. Gabby, just wait for me okay? This is going to be hard to do. Please, just trust me when I say that we can do it right when I am done cooking." Gabby nodded and agreed with me. "We call Antonio right when you have the food." I nodded and agreed with her. "Deal." Gabby smiled and nodded.

"Happy okay? We are still going to be happy. We still have twins coming." I nodded and agreed with her before going to get up so that I could go downstairs and make us some Brunch.
