Dawsey: Starting a Family Part 2

Chapter 116

Matt's POV: After finishing up in the shower and getting dressed, I made my way out to the kitchen where I saw Gabby making me some breakfast. "I thought you said you were going to rest in bed this morning." Gabby then turned to look at me and sighed. "I can't help it. I mean, we both worked all night yet...you want to make me breakfast." I nodded and went to put my hands on her stomach. "Yes, because I am not the one who is pregnant with triplets. Gabby, let me call Severide and see if he can come over and help me and Antonio today." Gabby then looked at me and thought about it. "Tell him that Stella has to come over too. I want to spend as much time as possible with her as I can. She can help me with my summer clothes." I nodded.

I nodded and agreed with her. "Yes, but in return...can you promise me that you are going to relax?" Gabby then sighed when I said that before going to sit on a bar stool. "You know me Matt, you know I am not one who just sits on the sideline." I nodded and agreed while going to grab some eggs in the fridge. "Eggs and toast okay with you for breakfast?" Gabby then looked at me. "Oh, Antonio already made me breakfast. He also helped me with my morning sickness." I sighed when she said that. "It came back?" Gabby nodded and sighed. "I think it was just something I ate last night. I promise, I will watch it." I nodded and sighed while walking around the counter. Stepping close to the counter, I went to put my hand on her stomach to kiss her.

Gabby smiled when I did that, wrapping her arms around my neck while kissing me slowly. "I am going to go sit in the living room and call Stella okay?" I then looked at her and smiled. "Want me to call Cruz and see if he can help too or even Hermann? I mean, they are all going to want to see you." Gabby then smiled at me. "Let's invite the entire firehouse over. That way, it'll all be done by tonight." I smiled when she said that. "Then you do not leave your seat. I do not want you to get trampled." Gabby smiled and agreed with me. "Just give me a minute." Grabbing my phone, I went to call Chief to see if he could get people rounded up. "Chief Boden" I smiled when he said that. "Hey Boden, it's Casey." Boden then laughed. "Forget something at the house?"

I shook my head. "Just my army of movers. You think maybe you could ask this shift if they could come over this afternoon to help us pack up? We don't have a big place but...the fast it's done, the less it's a problem. Then, we can just concentrate on the little things. We need to take apart our furniture to move down to the Bahamas." He agreed and understood. "Of course Casey, we'd love. That gives us a bit more time with Gabriela. I will call Hermann. I know that we will be over. What time would you like us to come?" I then looked at Gabby. "Time?" Gabby smiled. "Noon." I) agreed with her. "Go spend a bit of time at home. Come around noon maybe? I need to rest after that late night call."  Chief agreed with me when I said that. "Of course, see you then. Can Donna come?" I smiled and agreed. "Of course she can chief. The more hands the better."

He laughed when I said that. "Of course Matt, I will ask around for you guys okay?" I then smiled. "Let me talk to Hermann personally though okay? I want to invite Cindy over personally since she is a friend of ours since our time with Louie." He agreed with me when I said that. "Of course, see you around noon." He then went to hang up while I looked at Gabby. "I am going to call Hermann next or do you want me to make your breakfast first?" Gabby then smiled at me. "I will call Cruz and Stella. Can you call Hermann?" I agreed and nodded as she went to sit in the living room while I made breakfast. Meanwhile, I went to grab my phone so that I could give Hermann a call. 

Pushing his number, I smiled when I reached the home line. "Hermann Residence, Cindy speaking." I smiled when she said that. "Hi Cindy, it's Matt." She was happy when I said that. "Why hello outgoing Captain. What do I owe the pleasure?" I laughed when she said that. "We were wondering if you and Hermann would like to come over? Gabby is benched from packing so...I was wondering if Hermann can help while you spend time with Gabby?" Cindy liked the sound of that. "I'm in, let me just ask Christopher. Christopher!" That's when Hermann (must've) walked over to her. "It's Matt, he wants to know if we can go over and help with packing?" Hermann laughed when she said that. "Of course, I want to see Gabby one last time. Matt, what time?" I then spoke to him. "Noon, see you then and bring some kids!" 

They both laughed when I said that. Hanging up, I smiled when I looked at Gabby who just got off the phone with Cruz. "Cruz is coming with Chloe. Severide is coming with Stella." I nodded and agreed with her. "Good, that means we have a good army to clean out this place pretty quickly. The Hermanns might bring some kids along with them." Gabby then looked at me. "Call them back and tell them no kids. Sorry but, that is going to be stressful." I nodded and understood. "Okay, relax and take a breath. I am going to call Cindy back." Gabby then shook her head. "I got it, you concentrate on breakfast okay?" I nodded and agreed with her, making us some breakfast so that we can eat before relaxing a bit more in bed.

NOTE: I am not going to write about them eating, I am going to them in the bedroom after breakfast.
