You are suddenly gone
Out of my life
Seasons change and the sun shines
Yet your face is missing from the light
What is this place without you?
You are a haunting memory
Slowly turning into a ghost
Lurking in my dreams
You were once so alive
So beautiful in the night
I just wanted to reach out and touch you
Like quicksand
You were gone
You are the silence between the bed sheets
A ghost of my imagination
Come to impregnate me by night, leave by morning
Your lips are full of life, those luscious sweet lips
Your skin blends into the darkness
While I reach out to touch you
Smelling your perfume
My Angel of Darkness keeps me from feeling lonely
Fills me with desire, then is gone by morning
Living in a world that doesn't know his name nor the twinkle in his eye
Or the way his arms reach for you in the middle of the night
He is the only man who will ever know me better than I know myself
Yet here I am again
The echoing of the air conditioning
The sunlight pouring through the walls
And I am reminded of being replaced
