I am strong and invincible

Neither male nor a female

Just a gender fluid being

I look with skepticism at my surroundings

I feel with intensity

I ponder about the possible dangers

Yet I wonder what could be

Balancing between Yin and Yang

Both Good and Bad

Right and Wrong

These words in our language

Are dichotomies

They are used to describe what we are supposed to be

Versus what is bad for society

It is these words that help us learn how to be human beings

It is these same words that also tear us down when we are at war with ourselves

Words like: Bipolar, Schizophrenic, Gay, Transvestite, Religious, Radical, Sexist, Racist, Homophobic, Antisemitic, Fatophobic, Classist, Depressed, Manic, Anxious, Murderer, Suicidal, Terrorist, Faggot, Butch

All these words can be used to describe a person

You hardly knew

From unfortunate circumstances

Decided to do the wrong thing

All of these words

Describe who you don't want to be

The relationship advice articles that you read

The classes you take in school to become

An expert in your field

The reason you decided

To become a psychologist

Might have been because you wanted to prevent others

From dealing with the type of people you have

All of these words

Have a power in their own way

All of these words

Can be destructive to yourself as well

It is important we use these words wisely

For the power to manipulate language

The power to put a mental image into one's mind

Can be a power that will effect people long after you have gone

It is important that we use this power wisely

Instead of using it as a means to an end

It's important that we be respectful

That we tell the truth instead of lying

That we act with integrity and not from being completely absorbed in our own self-interest

It is important that we do all these things

Using words in an important way

To tell someone not to take their own life

Or the life of another's

To inspire people to do more

To be more

Not to tear people down

Or to give them no hope

Just because it gives you a reason for being

You may be able to save your own image for a while

Making people believe that you are in the right

That he/she is in the wrong

Yet it is only a temporary relief

People will know what you have done

What your true intentions were

How you hid the truth

People will remember

How you treated them

So use your words wisely

It is a very powerful thing
