Humans are
What they believe themselves to be
There is no other truth to our realities
We can't see beyond our realities
Unless someone radically intervenes
Shakes up the environment
To remove the previous thought processes
Making a blank slate
I hear them every day
Talking about economic circumstances and diplomatic interests
I consume their lies
Submitting myself to the will of the people
Individuality is dead
Long live the monarchy
The cogs of a global machine
Only assumed as goods by producers
Talk to me like I don't understand
Let's assume defects in my intelligence
Let's promote hatred and bigotry
So bigots can assume they understand things they have never experienced
I realize it
That my voice is insignificant
I am just concerned
That humanity may be dying from the inside
Power
In any form, it comes in
Carries subjective truths
These truths can be looked at for what they are
If one is brave enough to scrutinize them
Small lies to keep institutions in check
Sometimes for their own betterment
Yet if you abuse power
I do not sympathize with you
Why can't we decide to love each other?
I can't understand the barriers we put up to keep others away
Don't even understand me anymore
The sun sets and rises me
I go along with the motions
Our struggle is human
It is not about others
It is ourselves
That is why I fell in love with the enemy
