[ June 21, 1982]
Three months had passed since Erik had once again lost the person he loved, he had once again lost a child. Pietro was like a light in Erik's life, which was full of trauma. The boy filled the void in his heart and when he was gone then there was nothing else in him.
Raven put a pile of documents on Erik's desk which was now mostly use by her or Emma or whoever was willing to take care of all those documents and tire their eyes.
Just a few days ago, Erik had diverted all of his sadness and pain by working overtime, though it still ended up with him crying silently when he was finally completely exhausted.
Everyone knew how Erik's mental state was now, without a doubt it was in a fragile state.
Raven understood that Erik was still in the shackles of grief that may never go away, he was still grieving for Pietro. Raven remembered how hopeful Erik had been, he was always waiting for Pietro to return.
There were no funerals, no bodies to bury, Erik could only hope that his son was still out there even though that hope was dwindling day by day.
He won't come back.
After sitting for a long time, making her backache, Raven got up, took a drink of water to refresh herself, then left the room and was about to head to her own room, but she stopped when she passed Pietro's room.
The door was slightly open as if there was someone inside. Raven peeked, maybe that was rude, but she wondered who was inside. And it was none other than Erik.
Raven take a step back, unwilling to peek any further. Erik's sadness was still fresh, infact, her own sadness was still fresh. Only time could heal it, slowly she would get used to it, and she hoped that Erik would too.
Charles had called to Genosha a lot since he came back to Westchester, always asking how everyone was, especially Erik.
Charles insisted on frequent visits until it was too frequent and Raven told that it probably won't help much because Erik himself didn't talk much to him when he came, in fact, he didn't talk much to anyone right now.
Her heart hurt when she saw the look in Erik's eyes, it was just full of desperate. Raven wanted to help but Erik always acted like he didn't want to be helped by anyone.
Maybe Erik just wanted to have his own time, go through his pain alone like he always did.

Erik was in Pietro's room that night, a little drunk which he was once again mired in his grief. There was a photo of Pietro in his hand, smiling sweetly with a turtle on his shoulder. Erik could remember every detail of Pietro's face.
He wondered why all his children had to die. Erik started to believe that he had been cursed because everything ended badly in his life.
Erik hoped, no, he knew that someday he would get used to this emptiness in his heart, he would get used to never seeing his son, never kissing him on the forehead, never holding him, or stroking his soft hair again. But now it still hurts too much.
