Four years had passed, so much has happened accompanied by a sense of peace and leaving only the times and memories that would always be missed. A year ago Pietro had graduated from high school after previously he continued his education at Xavier's School when Charles finally reopened it, it was the only school that Erik could trust for his son to spend his school years.
It was so fast for Erik, he was proud his son could get through it all.
Erik's leadership in Genosha went smoothly as he hoped, although sometimes there were conflicts with Emma as his co-leader, but all of that could be resolved with mutually giving input to finally reach an appropriate agreement.
He was been a little busy lately with so much going on in Genosha, a bit of venturing out on business and recruiting mutants. Overtime was no longer uncommon for Erik, sometimes he was accompanied by Raven to just help him finish a bottle of whiskey, drifting a bit during the night, but making sure to stay awake and alert.
"Erik, where's Pietro? I haven't seen him today," asked Raven, pouring Vodka into her glass.
"I don't know, he left not telling me, maybe he went with his friend––what's his name? Re––?"
"Remy!" Raven said, "How can you not remember!" Raven said.
Erik shook his head, taking a sip of his drink.
A few minutes later, Erik escorted Raven to her room, she was drunker than Erik, and he didn't want Raven to stray into another room if she was not escorted. Before going to his own room, Erik went to Pietro's room, found it empty, it was almost midnight and he was still hanging around out there. Erik did free Pietro, but if this continued, he might be able to run away without Erik's knowledge.
A crazy idea crossed Erik's mind, he wanted to sew some metal shards on Pietro's clothes so that wherever he went Erik would always be able to feel him.
Then in the early hours of the morning, Pietro slipped into his room, he was so tired he immediately wanted to lie down. He was surprised when it turned out that Erik was still awake and waiting for him to come home.
"Where have you been?" Erik asked.
Pietro was silent for a moment, struggling to face his father's sharp gaze.
"You don't have to wait for me, you know that," said Pietro.
Erik sighed, pinching the area between his eyes.
"I won't ask you any more questions, now rest, you look very tired," said Erik patting Pietro's shoulder.
Erik wouldn't corner Pietro with all the questions, of course not.
Erik remembered, a few months ago Pietro was just disqualified after previously breaking 8 world records in track and field events. And that sparked a review of mutant participation in athletics, which ended in the decision that no athlete carrying a mutant X-Gene could compete in a professional sporting event.
