"Well, you better look again," Robbie said to Cat. Along with Jade, the three of them were rehearsing a scene from Sikowitz's new play in the black box theatre. The set wasn't finished, but I could see the framework of what would soon be a submarine. Tori, Andre, and Beck were in the audience behind Sikowitz and me. A few weeks had passed since Tori and Jade decided to take things slow. There was a difference in their dynamic, everyone saw it, and we were all happy for them. Besides, it kept things pretty peaceful nowadays. Recently, they had a real date and even celebrated their first kiss. It was special for both of them.

After sparing a glance back at them, I saw they were all on their phones, and I inwardly huffed at how rude they were being. Cat even had her phone in her hand, and there was no doubt in my mind that Robbie and Jade had their phones on them.

With my arms crossed, I continued to watch the scene unfold. "Because there's been a murder," Jade said.

Cat gasped. "Murder? Where?"

"Right here," Jade said

"On this underwater submarine," Robbie added.

Up on the catwalk, Burf pressed a button, releasing a sonar sound. "I'd better wake up the president," Cat stated. She scampered over to the encased phone and shattered the protective glass with a small hammer. The redhead giggled and I dropped my head into my hand.

"Give me the Whitehouse," she said with a serious tone before breaking out into another fit of giggles. Sikowitz gave me an incredulous look just as Tori and Andre burst out into laughter behind us.

"Oh, my God. That's insane," Tori laughed.

Sikowitz and I turned around and saw them glued to their phones. "Excuse me?" Sikowitz asked.

"Oh hey," Andre greeted us nonchalantly as if they didn't just interrupt the scene. Though Beck and Tori seemed more aware that they were caught.

"Oh, uh, we were just watching a video," Tori explained.

With a wide grin, Andre added, "Yeah, these two horses are-"

While I rolled my eyes, Sikowitz cleared his throat. "Put your phones away. We are rehearsing a play."

"Right," Tori said as they set down their phones, but they were still in their hands.

"Our bad," Andre nodded.

"Hey, send me the link to that video," Beck interjected. I scoffed and sent him an incredulous look. He just shrugged.

"Stop that," Sikowitz demanded.

I shook my head at them before turning around to face the stage, only to huff when I saw Jade glued to her phone.

"Jade, let's go from your line," Sikowitz said, staring at his script. I lightly tapped his arm, and he looked up, spotting Jade. He called her again.

Graciously sparing us a glance, she asked, "What's up?"

"Jiminy Crackers," Sikoiwtz exclaimed, throwing his script down on his seat. "I'm trying to teach you kids something about-"

A bluesy tone interrupted him and Andre raised his finger. "One sec."

Sikowitz and I scoffed as Andre answered the call. "Grandma, what is it?"

His grandma said something on the other end of the line while Sikowitz propped his foot on his chair, glaring at Andre expectantly. "No, nobody stole your bed. You're just in the kitchen."

"Hang up that phone right now," Sikowitz ordered.

"Take your pills," Andre said into the phone before ending the call.
