This is the fifth day in a row.
The fifth day in a row when your seven year old comes home from school with tears streaming down her face as the words of her young classmates echoed in her brain.
She threw her arms around you, crying into your neck as she told you about all the things her classmates say to her.
Bullying her for having Rosé as her mom.
Things like her not being as loved as she could be, because she's got a famous idol as her mom and she's too busy to love Lily and you.
How easily she could be replaced as Rosie meets new people. She might be loved now but that, according to her classmates, can be changed in a heartbeat.
It's terrible and it breaks your heart.
As much as it hurts you, you know it couldn't be further from the truth.
You know it hurts her more than it hurts you.
"It's okay." You soothed as you rubbed her back.
Rosé bit her lip, feeling tears well up in her eyes as she watched and listened to everything.
She was overwhelmed and ended up rushing upstairs to let her tears fall without worrying you and Lily.
But you noticed.
"It's all going to be okay. We're going to talk more about this in a few, don't you worry. But for now, how about a snack and some cartoons while I go upstairs to see where Rosie went."
She nodded and you sat her on the sofa with a snack and her cartoons before running upstairs to the bedroom.
Rosie was sat at the foot of the bed with her head buried in her hands and sobs falling from her lips.
She was trembling, her shoulders shaking with every sob she let out.
"Rosie? Baby?"
She lifted her head, gazing at you with teary eyes and tear-stained cheeks.
"Hey..." you whispered softly and sat down beside her. "Look, I know it's heartbreaking but we'll find a solution to make Lily feel more comfortable-"
"Y/N," she whimpered. "I need to talk to you."
"I'm listening." You said as you put your hand on her thigh.
"I feel like I'm hurting you both somehow."
"What?" You asked, confused over her words.
"I make things hard because my life is hard, because of my job. People say things. It's gotten to Lily. She's seven, she doesn't deserve that! And I see how it hurts you to see her hurting..."
"Rosie," you tried to interrupt.
"And it hurts me to see you both hurting. So, as hard as it is for me, if you want to break up, if you need space, if you don't want to be with me anymore, for whatever reason... I understand."
She might say she'd understand but the breakdown she was having as the words left her lips proved her wrong.
"Rosie, stop it." You said as you squeezed her thigh comfortingly. "You know we're happier than ever. You know we love you so much. Our lives haven't ever been better."
She sniffled and put her hand over yours.
"Yes, it hurts me to see her hurting, but that's because I love her. Bullies suck but it is not your fault, just like it isn't hers. You're all I need... you're all we need."
She smiled through her tears as you curled her cheek and began to wipe them away.
"I love you. Please don't ever think that way. There's no one else I want to be with. You're an amazing person, Rosie. You're an amazing girlfriend and you're an amazing example for Lily, who considers you as her mom, too. Trust me - we both love and need you."
"I love you both too." She sniffled as threw her arms around you for a hug.
But the sound of the floor creaking beneath Lily's little feet made you both turn to look at her.
"Come join us for hugs. I think mom really needs one." You said as you looked to Rosie.
Lily rushed over, jumping onto Rosé's lap for a hug.
"Thank you." Rosie smiled as she put her arms around Lily. "I love you so much."
"Love you, mom." Lily said to Rosé, making her heart flutter as a smile tugged at her lips.
She loved you both so much, words wouldn't ever be enough to express it.
