"Lily, honey, are you hungry? Would you like some lunch?" Rosé asked as she entered the living room.

Lily was sitting on the floor of the living room, playing with her toys as she watched her favorite cartoons.

"Yes, please!" She said and Rosie smiled before walking to her.

"Okay. Here's your juice. Lunch will be out in a few." Rosie spoke before going back into the kitchen.

Rosie was humming to herself as she began to make some lunch for the two of them to share when Lily suddenly entered the kitchen.

"Can I go play in my room?"

"Sure, sweetie. I'll let you know when lunch is ready."

"Okay," Lily said before running up the stairs to her room.

Everything was fine for a few minutes until something happened.

Rosie was almost done making lunch when she heard a loud noise on the floor as if something had landed on it hard.

It had come from upstairs.

She turned off the stove and walked to the staircase, her mind wandering.

"Lily? Is everything okay?"

All she heard was the sound of Lily crying in response and a panic, Rosie ran upstairs to her room.

"Lily? Lily, what's wrong?" She asked as she hurried down the hall and into the bedroom.

Lily was on the floor, her hand covering part of her head as she cried.

She hurried over to her and knelt on the floor before gently moving her hand away.

And that's when she saw it.

Blood.

"Oh, baby, what happened?"

"I was playing on the bed and fell." Lily sniffled before moving into Rosie's embrace.

Rosé was alarmed by the blood on Lily's head and she didn't know what to do.

So she did the first thing that came to her mind; take Lily to the emergency room.

"Okay, honey. Off to the hospital, we go." Rosie said as she stood up and hurried down the stairs to the car, hurrying off to the hospital.

And it was good that Rosie did take her in because Lily ended up needing a few stitches.

The wound ended up being right above her eyebrow, just a little cut that Rosie found out she got when she was jumping off her bed.

As Lily sat on the hospital bed preparing to get her stitches, Rosie knew she had to make the scary call to you.

She pressed her phone against her ear after tapping your contact and she nervously tapped her foot as she stood outside the room.

"Hey, Rosie. Is everything okay?"

"Uh... not really."

"What do you mean? What happened? Are you okay? Is Lily okay?"

"I'm fine and Lily will be fine but she's in the hospital right now."

"What!?"

"Don't worry, only a few stitches were required."

"Stitches?! Rosie, what happened?"

"I was making lunch for us when she went upstairs to play. She was jumping on her bed, I guess, and she fell and hit her head."

"Oh, my god! I'm on my way."

The call ended before she could say anything more and when you arrived a few minutes later, she could tell you were furious.

You ignored her as you began to fuss over your little girl.

"Are you okay, honey?"

"Yeah, Mommy." She answered as you kissed her forehead.

"Your daughter's quite tough. She's going to be okay." The doctor promised as he left the room.

"Y/N?"

"Don't, Rosie."

"Y/N, please talk to me." Rosie pleaded.

You sighed and brushed your fingers through Lily's hair.

"Stay here for just a minute, okay?"

"Okay."

You and Rosé left the room, now talking out in the hall.

"You were supposed to be watching her."

"I know, I'm sorry. But she was hungry and she just wanted to go play. I didn't know she'd get hurt."

"You don't know, Rosie, that's why you watch her! She's a kid, she's bound to get hurt from time to time. You have to watch her at all times."

"I know. I'm so sorry." Rosie said as tears licked her eyes. "I feel so awful. I was so scared. I'll never forgive myself for this."

You sighed as you realized just how hard you were being on her.

It was all out of fear but, regardless, you were wrong for being so harsh and you knew that.

"It's not your fault. It happens. You just have to be careful and watch her a little better."

"You're completely right. Again, I'm sorry. Truly."

"Don't be so hard on yourself. I'm sorry for being so mean. I just got so worried."

"I understand." She said as she caressed your cheek. "I'm so sorry. I'll watch her better next time."

"Well, we're going to put a new rule in place - no jumping on the bed. I thought she knew better but she's a kid, what did I expect?"

She chuckled as she pulled you in for a hug.

"Everything will be okay. She's going to be fine. I don't blame you."

"That makes me feel better." She said before you pulled her in for a kiss. "I love you."

"I love you too." You smiled and kissed her again before going back into Lily's hospital room, ready to take her home.
