One and a half months later

Today's my first day at the U.A. High School. And I hope to see her again.

I arrive about 30 minutes early before school officially begins. I have plans to explore the campus a bit and maybe, just maybe, find Hanada-san. She seems like the type to arrive early.

After wandering around the campus a bit and gaining some familiarity with the locations of various structures, I enter the main building to find my assigned class: Class 1-A.

And to my surprise and happiness, she's there.

She sits toward the back of the classroom by the window. Her face is toward the window. Her raven hair is tied into a chignon at her nape. She's adorned it with daffodils, too. Metal-frame rectangular glasses sit atop her nose. Unlike the last time I saw her, I can see her ears. They're long and pointed, like those of the fae. She's wearing an ivory white choker and ivory white dress gloves. She's wearing the U.A. male uniform, though. Well, there wasn't exactly a rule dictating that girls had to wear skirts as part of their uniform. Her shirt is tucked into the waistband of her pants and her pants are secured by a black leather belt. Her tie and expensive black loafers are crisp and clean. She looks every bit like a model student.

And she looks beautiful, too.

She turns her silver eyes toward me and smiles softly.

"Hello Todoroki-san."

"Hey Hanada-san."

We stay in our positions feeling awkward.

Unable to handle the tension for much longer, I break the silence. "We share the same class. It's nice that I know someone here."

"Likewise," she responds.

"Do we have assigned seats or did you choose a random seat?"

"Oh, we do have assigned seats. If you look at the center table there is a map there that shows who should sit where."

I go over to that table and sure enough, there is a map. According to the map, I'm supposed to sit in the seat beside Hanada-san.

Looking back at her I scoff, "You could have just told me that my seat was next to yours."

As I make my way to the seat, she smiles and shrugs. "I thought you wouldn't believe me if I told you that. I figured you should find out for yourself."

"You think that I think you're a liar?"

"I don't know. Do you think I'm a liar?"

"I don't know. But you're mysterious. That's for sure. For example, I didn't know you wore glasses. You didn't wear them on exam day."

Her brow rises. "Really? If I'm mysterious, then what are you? I don't know much about you either. As for your glasses statement, I wore contacts that day. But I prefer wearing glasses over contacts."

"Just as mysterious as you, I guess."

She laughs a little at that. The corner of her mouth tilts upward. That smirk. "Well Mr. Mystery, I look forward to unraveling the mystery that is you."

I return the smirk. "Same here Ms. Mystery. I anticipate solving the mystery that is you."

And then and there the threads of a friendship are forged.
