Oh, my! The drama has just intensified!
I would be lying if I said I wasn't entertained by the events that transpired in the last ten minutes. Even without audio, Midoriya-san's and Bakugou-san's mutual animosity is quite the spectacle. All that energy, ego, and perseverance. They both hate each other to hell, that much is obvious. But somewhere they respect each other, too. It's very reluctant, but it is evident in their fighting styles. Midoriya-san is the only one not using his quirk and based on yesterday's events, I assume it is because he injures himself in the process. Regardless, both are channeling all of their energy and emotions to their fullest. There are only three reasons I can imagine them doing so: either to test their own limitations, show the other just how capable they are, or both. Given their behavior, I assume it's both.
With a newfound interest, I continue watching the battle unfold on the screens. Bakugou-san and Iida-san seem to be communicating together. All Might-sensei confirms this.
"Teammates can communicate through wireless transceivers! And they all have a rough sketch of the building!"
Sensei proceeds to take out a small roll of tape. "And there's this capture-tape! The second someone's wrapped this around their opponent, that's the sign they're 'captured!'"
So he's the only one who can hear what they are saying ...
And to further stimulate the class, he makes the class cheer with him. "PLUS ULTRA!" I don't join in. Instead, I activate a sound amplification quirk and eavesdrop on All Might's communicator.
Bakugou-san launches attack after attack on Midoriya-san, giving Uraraka-san ample time to escape. Midoriya-san tries to bind Bakugou-san with the tape but fails miserably. Midoriya-san escapes and hides in the labyrinth of the building. But Bakugou-san is not done yet. I hear him screeching, "Yo, where are you? You tricked me, didn't you? Were you having a laugh all this time? Well? Your quirk is actually pretty damn flashy ain't it?
"WHY DON'T YOU USE IT SINCE MINE IS EVEN STRONGER!" For effect, he blasts two large bursts of fire.
The sound hurts my ears. Bakugou-san's voice is like All Might-sensei's. Both will make me deaf one day. However, what did he mean by "tricked me?" Yesterday, he charged at Midoriya-san during the softball pitch trial, shouting that Midoriya-san had to explain the stunt he pulled off. And now, he's screaming that Midoriya-san tricked him. There's something here that I can't quite figure out ...
Midoriya-san, very understandably, is horrified and quiet. But he's thinking beyond his horror.
Meanwhile, Uraraka-san has made it to the top floor, where Iida-san is guarding the artificial weapon. Iida-san is pacing around and getting into the character of a "villain." It's rather entertaining.
"Bakugou is naturally rotten, but that actually hits the mark for this exercise. Following that train of thought, I ought to act more like a villain as well. This too is simply another trial to become a splendid man worthy of the Iida family name! Put yourself in a villain's shoes!"
I have to stifle a laugh at Iida-san's next statement. "I AM NOW QUITE EVIL!" I'm imagining Iida-san making a scary face, or the best imitation he can make of a scary face, as he says that.
However, Uraraka-san bursts out a laugh. Bad move, Uraraka-san. Iida-san realizes it, too.
"So you've come Uraraka. I knew you'd come here alone as soon as Bakugou bolted off! Yours is a quirk that causes whatever you touch to float. With that in mind, I moved to counter you by giving this floor a thorough cleaning!" He turns toward her and shows off the spotless room. Clever move on his part. Remove all objects that Uraraka-san can make weightless, leaving her at a significant disadvantage.
All Uraraka-san manages is to relay her location to Midoriya-san. But soon enough, Midoriya-san is at a disadvantage, too. Bakugou-san finds him, ready for a final showdown.
Bakugou-san aims one of his gauntlets at Midoriya-san."I already know about all of your stalking, you know. My explosions are sparked by the sweat on my palms which is like secreting nitroglycerin that then detonates.
"Now, if the specs are as I asked, then I can store that nitro-sweat into this bracer-" He doesn't finish his sentence. Instead, he releases an enormous explosion. All I can see is fiery orange and yellow. The screen flickers before it comes back into focus. I look at another screen, one that shows the outside of the building, and the sight stuns me.
A large portion of the lower half of the building is missing. Its structure is now nothing more than rubble.
The class is hysterical now. I can hear the fear in the red-haired student's voice. I can hear the panic and tension in All Might-sensei's voice as he tries to speak to Bakugou-san through telecommunications.
Looking back at the other screen, Midoriya-san is on his back and he looks scared to death, and Bakugou-san hovers over him and grins maniacally.
His parting words are no less maniacal. "I'm gonna break you at your full strength!"
As if this battle could not get any more dramatic ...
