I was shocked to see him in the classroom that I was in.

But I can't deny that I was a little happy to see him.

He looked handsome for someone dressed in sneakers. A nicely made tie, ironed shirt and coat, and foot-length trousers. His hair is groomed, too.

He makes a decent first impression. Well, this would be my fourth impression of him.

I smiled softly and greeted him. After guiding him to the map, we bantered. I can't remember ever having a playful conversation like this with anyone. For the first time in ten years, I met a male who hasn't hurt me in any way. Yet.

But I enjoyed talking to him like this. He viewed me as a normal person. He talked to me like a normal person. I can't begin to describe the amount of happiness that simple action gave me.

"... But you're mysterious. That's for sure. For example, I didn't know you wore glasses. You didn't wear them on exam day," he had said.

Not willing to back down, I quipped back. "Really? If I'm mysterious, then what are you? I don't know much about you either. As for your glasses statement, I wore contacts that day. But I prefer wearing glasses over contacts."

"Just as mysterious as you, I guess."

I let a laugh loose and smirked. I have a smart mouth too Todoroki-san. "Well Mr. Mystery, I look forward to unraveling the mystery that is you."

He accepted the challenge. "Same here Ms. Mystery. I anticipate solving the mystery that is you."

That challenge will be far more difficult than you imagine, Todoroki-san. But if you treat me right, I may be able to make my first friend in a very long time.

We continue to look at each other with interest in our eyes. A sound breaks us out of our locked gazes. More students have entered the classroom, full of excitement and energy. I proceed to make my analysis of them.

I see a boy with mustard yellow and a black lightning streak hair converse with a boy who had spiky crimson red hair. Both of them are definitely extroverts. They carry a lot of positive energy and seem like the type to befriend anyone. They're a little dimwitted but they mean well. I'll have to be careful if they try to befriend me too. I with my introverted, reserved personality and them with their extroverted, outgoing personalities.

A boy with pointy ash blonde hair enters the classroom and sits at his desk with his feet propped. A tall boy with glasses scolds him. The ash-blonde boy seems familiar. He is the angry type. But is he angry just for the sake of it or does his personality revolve around anger? Or perhaps he wears anger as a mask because he has something to hide? There is definitely more to this boy than just a ferocious brute. As for the boy with glasses, he has a strong sense of ideals. Not one who is easily swayed. Somewhat lacking in the adaptability department but noteworthy nonetheless.

A girl with black hair tied to the back is searching for her seat. Another girl with short, plum purple hair is already seated at her desk looking disinterestedly at everything and everyone. Both of them seem to know what they want. They look like the type who have a fixed goal in mind and are willing to achieve it. Their passion is subdued but it is there.

One girl with visibly pink skin chatters to anyone who will talk to her. Another one I have to be careful of. She's more outgoing than the yellow and red-haired boys. She also seems like the type to know a lot of gossip. She looks a bit airheaded but observant at the same time. If she ever learns what my past and present are like ...

A boy with broccoli green hair arrives and is immediately targeted by the ash-blonde boy. By the sound of it, both of them have known each other for quite some time. And they heavily dislike each other ... Oh! I remember now. They were the two students involved in that Sludge Monster incident a few weeks ago. They were wearing the same uniform so they definitely knew each other from before.

One noticeably short boy with grape purple balls on his head leers at every girl. Even me. The less ... interaction ... I have with this one the better. Avoid this one as much as possible.

Disgusted by the grape boy, I pull my coat closer to my body.

Just then, I hear a thump. From what the other students say, there is someone in a yellow sleeping bag lying just outside the classroom door. Confused, I wait for someone to make a move. The person enters and introduces himself as Aizawa Shota, the homeroom teacher.

He wears black clothes from head to toe, save for a lead grey ribbon scarf. Unkempt and shoulder-length black hair, half-opened black eyes, growing mustache and beard, and overall fatigued. From his sleeping bag, Aizawa-sensei pulls out the U.A. training uniforms and announces in his dull, monotonous tone, "Wear these immediately. And then shove off to the P.E. grounds."

Confused, but not willing to disobey orders, the class and I do as we are told.

What training does he plan to have the class do today?
