Together with the rest of the class, Hanada-chan and I walk back indoors, where we will be able to watch the battles. On a large wall, there are many screens, all showing footage of the battle that will take place from different angles; some are from the outside of the building, some are from the inside.
Hanada-chan finds a chair and sits toward the back and side from where most of the class is gathered. She crosses her legs and arms and rests her cane against the chair. She's looking at the screens intently. I'm still doubtful about her declaration, but I say nothing. I stand by her and watch the screens, too.
The first trial begins.
Inside the building, Iida is observing the weapon and Bakugou is being his typical raging self. Iida knocks on the papier-mâché weapon. He's saying something, but the surveillance footage only captures video, not sound. Bakugou interrupts Iida from his monologue. Iida doesn't look impressed.
Meanwhile, outside the building, Midoriya is trembling with anxiety, and very understandably so. Uraraka is looking at the map of the building and seems relieved. She finally notices that Midoriya's not.
Regardless, Midoriya and Uraraka infiltrate the building through a window on the first floor. They traverse the identical hallways until Bakugou launches an ambush attack on them! Bakugou almost succeeds in blasting Midoriya's face off, but Midoriya pushes himself and Uraraka to the ground. The only thing that gets damaged is Midoriya's mask. Bakugou's anger intensifies, and Midoriya realizes that he is Bakugou's target.
A kid with spiky, red hair in the room exclaims, "That Bakugou's a cheater! An ambush is so unmanly!" Unmanly?
All Might counters the kid's argument. "Ambushes are a good strategy! They are in the heat of battle, after all!" I have to agree with All Might. If I were in Bakugou's place and had the same quirk as him, I would have done the same.
I look back at the screens. Bakugou launches a right fist punch toward Midoriya, but Midoriya blocks it by grabbing his right arm and flinging him over to make him land on his back. As Bakugou gets back up, Midoriya says something that riles Bakugou further. Bakugou's mouth contorts into a shout.
And with that, the battle intensifies.
