Chapter 25- Goodbye

Chapter 25

Damon

I was playing video games with Hari when I heard a scream; I jumped up worried it was Zanara and sure enough she ran out of Sapphire’s bedroom screaming and yelling at me, “Damon I thought you erased her memory!” Next I see her mom with a knife chase after Zanara.

I grab Sapphire’s arm and look her in the eyes. “Is something wrong?” I ask.

“She, she is wrong. She will kill us all; when she said that we were under attack that meant she was planning on killing us all.” Sapphire screams.

I take a step back in awe, “Zanara wouldn’t do that I know who was going to attack you guys and I received Intel a few days ago that he’s dead. The MCS’s are safe; Sapphire there is nothing to worry about. You can’t blame your daughter for being what she is; and there’s a chance that all of your kids are hybrids.”

“Don’t you say that about my children!”

“But you’re the one who rejected one of them because she is a hybrid. You don’t even care about her anymore.”

“She is not my daughter!”

“Sapphire why isn’t she your daughter?”

“Because she is one of you!”

“What am I?”

“A hybrid!”

“And what does that consist of?”

“I-I don’t know.” Sapphire admits lowering her head.

“Exactly; you can’t judge people to be something you know nothing about. Zanara is still pure she hasn’t drunken human blood yet.”

Zanara chimes in, “About that Damon I may have had a taste of your girlfriend.”

I look back at her, “What girlfriend?”

“The one that ran away about a year ago and I also might have had some of Agragor’s blood.”

“Agragor wasn’t human and neither was my old girlfriend she was a vampire. You didn’t notice her blood was black?”

“I guess I was really thirsty.”

I smile and turn back to Sapphire, “Can you accept your daughter, since she isn’t a monster per say.”

Sapphire stays silent and finally looks up and says, “I guess.” She grits her teeth and gets up to move towards Zanara. I give a warning hiss letting her know that I will fight for Zanara. Sapphire rolls her eyes and hugs Zanara; but I didn’t realize she still had the knife in her hand as she positioned it into place about to stab Zanara. I separate them with my vampire speed and strength. I pick up Sapphire and throw her out the window; however she manages to land on her feet. I kiss Zanara and check to see that she is okay; and follow Sapphire in great haste. I quickly caught up to her when she reached the training area and grabbed a weapon. I roll my eyes thinking as if an axe is going to hurt me; Sapphire charges at me with the axe in hand and tries to swipe my legs out from under me. I swiftly jump over it and kick Sapphire in the head knocking her to the ground.

She gets up leaving the axe on the ground and grabbing an athame she runs at me but I swipe her legs out from under her. She quickly gets to her feet and this time tries to jump me but I duck out of the way just in time my wolf was trying to get out to defend my mate but I held him in. Once again Sapphire gets up and charges at me but I grab her arm and turn her to face me as I pin her to the ground, “What is wrong with you?” I shouted.

“I refuse to be related to that thing!”

“You created that thing!” I replied.

“I refuse to believe that.”

“Sapphire you’re losing your mind. You were there when Zanara was born; you can’t refuse that you know it for a fact.” I reach her temples and give her the memory that I took from her.

She screams, “Don’t touch me you monster!”

I remove my fingers from her temples and reply, “If you hurt or attempt anything that could hurt Zanara I will kill you.”

I let her go as she ran back to the house; I teleported to Zanara’s room and began to pack I think I had enough of her family for my liking. Zanara walks in, “Did you read my mind?” She asks smiling.

“No I was just packing.”

“I was going to pack too. I can’t stand this place; I guess I just wanted to see my siblings not so much my mom.”

We finish packing and Zanara says goodbye to her family except her mother. We exited the castle as I hugged Zanara I teleported us home.
