Baby Avery

Jackson was in surgery with Alex and Mason as they were working on a kid that had been brought into the E.R.

Stephanie rushes in the O.R with Jo as the three surgeons looked at the pair of interns. "Everything okay?" Mason asks as he looks at the two of them.

"Dr Avery chief Hunt needs you in the E.R. now." Jo tells them.

" Can't they page someone else I'm in the middle of surgery?" Jackson asks trying to focus on the surgery as Stephanie and Jo share a look.

"It's Dr Shepherd-Avery." Stephanie tells him as his head shoots up looking at the pair of them hearing his wife's name as Alex and Mason also look at the two.

"What's wrong with her?" Jackson asks them.

"She was brought in they're working on her in trauma one." Jo tells him as he felts his heart sink to his stomach.

"Go we'll page someone else." Mason says as Jackson nods handing his instrument to the nurse before hurrying out of the O.R with the interns following him.

Meredith walks into the trauma room as she stands opposite Owen as she sees her sister in law laid unconscious as she looks up at Owen. "What happened to her?" Meredith says concerned.

"She was hit by a car. I think she's bleeding into her abdomen but I don't know the source." Owen says as Ava's monitors go off as Callie and Arizona walk in.

"Her BP is dropping starting compressions." Meredith announces as she begins compressions.

Meredith continues to compression for several minutes as Ava's BP and heart rate begin to rise again. "She's back." Meredith tells them as Arizona quickly sets up an ultrasound as Callie checks over Ava for any broken bones.

Jackson rushes into the Trauma room as he sees his wife unconscious. "What's going on?" He asks as they get ready to take Ava up to surgery.

"She's got blood in her abdomen and we need to get the baby out now." Meredith explains to Jackson. "We've got them both we're going to do everything we can." Meredith reassures him.

Jackson had been allowed into the O.R. as they delivered the baby as he sat beside Ava staring at her as she looked like she was peacefully sleeping as OB-GYN surgeon continued.

The gallery had grown more full as the news of the accident spread through the hospital. Derek sat looking down as he watched his little sister lay unconscious and injured.

Suddenly a loud cry erupted in the O.R. making Jackson look up quickly as he saw their baby. "Congratulations you have a baby boy Dr Avery." The OB-GYN tells him as she hands the baby to Arizona as she goes to check him over as Jackson walked over to his son.

Arizona checked him over as she smiled as she handed him to Jackson. "Everything seems good but we'll take him to check him over properly." Arizona says as Jackson nods not taking his eyes off his son as he moves over to Ava as he leans over and kisses her head.

"He's perfect just like you and we both need you to be okay so don't pull anything on us now." Jackson says to her as he looks up at the rest of them.

"We've got her Avery she'd want you to be with him." Meredith says to him as Jackson nods as he gives his son back to Arizona.

Jackson stood looking down at his son in his arms as April walked over to him. "How's he doing?" She asks him as she looks at the baby Avery.

"Everything looks good he's healthy. He's got her eyes I keep looking at him and all I see are her eyes." Jackson says to April as she puts a hand his shoulder.

"Ava's one very strong women she'll be just fine." A voice says as Jackson turns around to see his mom as she walks over and embraces him carefully seeing the baby in his arms.

"What are you doing here?" He asks her as she kisses his cheek.

"April called me and told me everything I came as soon as I could and I came to meet my beautiful grand baby." Catherine says to him and Jackson smiles at her.

"You have a grandson." Jackson tells her as he looks back at his son as Catherine looks down and her smile grows as she looks at her grandson.

"Well isn't he just perfect." Catherine says as she hugs her son as he hugs her back.

Meredith and Owen had finished the surgery on Ava as she had been taken to a room to recover as everyone was stood outside her room as Meredith walked out.

"How is she?" Alex asks as April,Catherine and Jackson walk over to them as the baby had been taken for his tests.

"The surgery went well we found the source of her bleeding and was able to stop it she's going be fine." Meredith tells them as lets out a deep breath that he felt had been holding in since he heard the news.

Ava began to wake up as she looked around the room to see everyone talking. "Don't you all have lives to save." Ava says quietly as they all turn to her as Jackson grabs her hand.

"Always thinking about everyone else even after having a major surgery." Owen says as the rest of them laugh.

"How are you feeling?" Jackson asks her as he tucks a piece of hair behind her ear as she smiles at him.

"I'm fine how's our baby?" She asks him as he smiles at her.

"He's perfect just like his mom." Jackson tells her as her smile grows wider.

"We have a baby boy." Ava says to him as he nods.

"And I think someones ready to meet his mommy." Arizona says as she walks in holding him as she settles him in Ava's arms as she smiles while studying his face as he snuggles into her.

"We'll give you two some space." Meredith says as everyone leaves the room leaving Jackson and Ava with their son.

Jackson looks up at his wife as he sees tears roll down her cheeks as she stares down at their son. "What's wrong?" He asks her as he wipes her tears with his thumb as Ava looks up at him.

"Nothing he's just so perfect. Thank you." Ava says to Jackson as she rests her head against his.

"For what?I didn't do anything this was all you." Jackson says to her.

"For being an amazing husband and I know your going to be just as an amazing dad." Ava tells him as she kisses him as he kisses her back.

"Yeah well your going to be an amazing mom too us Avery boys are very lucky." Jackson says causing Ava to laugh.

Catherine was sat holding her grandson as Jackson was sat on the edge of Ava's bed as everyone else was stood around the room.

"Have you decided on his name yet?" Catherine asks looking at her son and Daughter-in-law as Jackson looks at his wife.

"Actually we have." Jackson says to her as they all look at the couple.

"His name is Mark Christopher Avery." Ava tells them smiling.

"The perfect name for a perfect little boy." Catherine says looking down at her Grandson as Ava looks at Derek.

"Christopher isn't just after dad it's after you too. I couldn't have had two better big brothers." Ava says to him as Derek hugs her as she hugs him back.

"Mark would have loved this he loved being the centre of attention." Callie says as they all laugh.
