Got To Be Real

Ava sat down as Meredith pasted as Alex was in the shower. "I do not need another sister." Meredith complained as Ava watched her.

"Get out." Alex shouted out to the both of them.

"I mean, she's a lying liar.I would know if my mother were pregnant when I was 5. My mother was not pregnant when I was 5." Meredith says as she looked at the youngest Shepherd.

"I mean I don't remember a lot from when I was younger but I didn't go through what you did." Ava says to her.

"Get out." Alex tells them again.

"She's, like, psycho, like a stalker. I'm being stalked. Alex, this is criminal. I mean, you... what's your problem?" Meredith says as she opens the shower curtain.

"Get out! I'm naked here!" Alex snaps at both of them holding the shower curtain across his body.

"Okay, so what? I've seen it before! No big deal! I'm in crisis! Okay, fine. It's... your junk is spectacular.Jo is a very lucky girl.  Can we get back to me now? Why are you making that face?" Meredith says to him as she shares a look with Ava who shrugs her shoulders.

"Mer, I realize that I said I would take over as your person. Maybe that means I have to buy your tampons  and act like your husband's hair is special and crap. But I have a very important presentation to make to the board today to get a job, which I need because I got fired by Dr. Butthole! I have been practicing all night. I am sleep-deprived. I need to shower... alone... and focus!" Alex says looking at the sister in laws.

"You didn't even hear what I said!" Meredith snaps at him.

"No. And I don't care." Alex says to her as Ava looks at him.

"Alex-" Ava says as Meredith tells him herself.

"The new cardio chief thinks she's my biological sister." Meredith tells him as Alex looks at the two again confused.

"She what? Wait. What?! That's insane." Alex says as both the girls nod.

"Thank you." Meredith says while nodding.

Ava stood drinking her coffee as Meredith continues to talk about Maggie as her pager goes off. "Pile up I've got to go but I'll see you at the board meeting and If you figure out the Cardio chief situation call me." Ava says to them as she heads to the hospital.

"A.B.C.'S intact." Ava tells her older siblings as she checks over her patient.

"I need to assess his GCS." Derek says as he checks the patients head injury.

"If you'd be quiet, he's trying to talk now. Sir, can you tell me your name? What's your name?" Amelia says looking at the patient.

"Steve." He tells them.

"Forget your helmet today, Steve?" Amelia asks him.

"Aah. It hurts." Steve groaned in pain as Ava gave him a soft smile.

"I'm giving you something for the pain. You might start to feel sleepy now." Ava tells him.

"It's a depressed skull fracture. It is pretty deep. We're gonna need a C.T. And because of the position, probably an angio." Derek says to Amelia.

"I can make that decision if you'll give me room to look." Amelia says trying to look at the patient.

"Amy, I don't think he's gonna make it, and it's gonna get ugly, so let me do it." Derek says to her as Amelia rolls her eyes.

"Ah. Because only you can save him now. Screw you. I've got him." Amelia says to Derek as Ava glares at the both of them.

"Would you just stop. Derek I don't care if you can't handle it but Amy is the chief of Neuro you gave it to her and you made the decision to stay so don't blame amy or Meredith that was your decision. And Amy stop acting like this he's here so use him he's good really good and so are you so work whatever this is out." Ava snaps at the both of them as they look at their youngest sister.

"I have him. Ava, you'll assist. Let's take him up to C.T." Amelia says as Ava as they leave.

Ava was heading to the board meeting as she saw Meredith as she hurried to catch up with her. "Did you figure it out?" Ava asks her.

"So she was telling the truth my mom was pregnant and Richard was the father. I mean he is her father." Meredith says to her as Ava looks at her.

"Richard is her dad? I should've seen that coming." Ava says as the two walk into Derek. "I'll see you in there." Ava says as she walks into the board room.

All the board members sat as they listened to both Baileys and Alex presentations. They had decided to give Cristina's seat to Bailey as she had the stronger pitch.

Ava shared a look with Meredith as they saw Alex walk away. Ava saw Jackson watching her out of the corner of her eyes as the two hadn't spoken in nearly a week since they argued.

Ava followed after Derek as everyone walked out of the meeting after they had congratulated Bailey. Ava dragged her brother on to the roof of the hospital as the two stood looking over Seattle.

"How come we're up here?" Derek says looking at his youngest sister as she rested her head on his shoulder.

"I needed a minute and I think after the past few weeks maybe you would too and I come up here sometimes to talk to Mark. Tell him about baby Mark and sometimes just to complain because he always listened when I had a problem." Ava says to Derek.

"The mapping of the brain was my next step it is the next step in a neurosurgeon career this could change the future of medicine. But I chose Meredith and I chose my kids because I felt like I had been forced into a corner." Derek says looking over Seattle.

"Meredith is a surgeon too Derek she's got the next steps in her career and her future lies here. And I'm glad you chose your family I am but you can't blame Meredith or Amy because it was your chose to make. Maybe your time will come again when it's better for you and for Meredith maybe this is where your supposed to be for now. Enjoy it and spend more time with your kids because if I've learnt anything it's that Mark is growing up right before my eyes and I can't slow it down." Ava says as Derek smiles faintly.

"I know I should pick the kids up are you getting Mark?" Derek says looking at Ava.

"No Jackson picked him up I'm just hang up here a while longer." She says as they hugs before Derek heads into the hospital as she stares up at the sky.

"Now I need to try and sort out my own marriage any tips." She says looking up at the starry night.
