Ava finished packing up the last of the things in the house. Jackson had taken the kids out with Catherine as they'd be leaving later that afternoon. Ava looked around the house to make sure everything was packed.

She looked around reminded of every milestone that had happened. Each of her kids had taken their first steps and said their first words in this house. She closed her eyes reminiscing about the past five years.

She moved the last box to where the rest of their belonging were ready to be moved to their new house in California. Ava had got into her car heading over to Hospital to say goodbye to everyone where Jackson was meeting her.

Ava got out picking Harry up as Jackson held Daisy looking at his wife. "Are you ready?" He asks her while her blue eyes glazed over and gave him a quick nod.

They headed into the hospital causing Ava to smile seeing everyone gathered in the entrance. The hospital was her first home in Seattle. She met her family here and she brought her children into the world here.

Ava smiled them all tears streaming down her face while Catherine wrapped her arms around her. Ava hugged her back before letting her take Harry. Ava moved over and hugged Richard who smiled at her with pride.

"This really wasn't necessary." Ava says wiping her eyes as she looks at all her friends and family who gathered to see the Avery family off.

"You'd think we'd let you leave without a proper goodbye." Amelia says smirking at her sister causing Ava and Jackson to laugh.

"Well I just want to say it's not going to be the same around here without the two of you. Watching you grow into the brilliant surgeons you are has been a blessing. I know you will both go on to do amazing things and Stanford are gaining two brilliant Surgeons." Richard says causing Ava to smile at him while Jackson shakes his hand.

"Shepherd you've exceeded my expectations and you've become a brilliant surgeon. You grew up and you'll do great things." Bailey says looking at the women who was once her intern and was now paving the way for her own career.

"Thank you Dr Bailey." Ava said smiling at her friend and colleague.

Ava walked over to Amelia and owen as she embraced her sister. Amelia hugged her back instantly. "You better come visit and call me at least three time a week." Ava said to her sister while Amelia chuckled.

"You know i will. You better look after my niece and nephews. And if you need anything you call me." Amelia said while Ava nodded tears rolling down her cheeks as she hugged Amelia again.

"I'm really going to miss you." Ava said while Amelia shook her head in response.

"I'm going to call you so much you'll be tired of me. He's be so proud of you they both would." Amelia said causing Ava to shoot her a sad smile as she thought of Derek and Mark.

Owen pulled Ava into a hug with she quickly returned. "You grew up on me Shepherd and became one hell of a trauma surgeon. You'll do just fine in California they're lucky to have you." He said causing Ava to smile at him.

"Thank you Hunt. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you. Make sure you look out for her for me. She needs someone." Ava says looking at her sister who was talking to Maggie.

"I will." Owen said nodding in response while Ava walked over to Mason.

"You ready to be the head of Ortho?" Ava asks him while nods slowly looking at her.

"It's not going to be the same without you, April and Avery. I'm going to miss you Shepherd." Mason says while Ava shakes her head at him.

"We'll be back and I want you and Harriet to visit as much as you can. You'll be okay Mason and you got this." Ava says while the two hug each other before Ava walked back to her husband.

"I'm going to go say goodbye to Meredith, Alex and the kids." Ava said while Jackson nodded before she quickly kissed him.

Ava found herself outside with Meredith and her kids. "You've got to be good for your mom okay." Ava said smiling down at her nieces and nephew.

"We will Auntie Ava." Bailey said causing Ava to smile at him which he returned. He looked just like Derek. Ava kneeled down and hugged all three of them.

"You tell your mommy to bring you to visit and I'll bring mark and the twins too. And I'll FaceTime you all the time okay." Ava says while Zola nodded hugging her again.

"Bye Auntie Ava." Zola said before Ava nodded kissing her head and hugging Bailey and Ellis again.

"I'll take them back inside." Maggie said taking Ellis before taking the kids into the hospital. Meredith and Ava looked at one another.

"You ready for this?" Meredith asks her while Ava shook her head.

"No in the slightest but I know I got to do it. Listen if you need anything you call me and I'll be on the first flight. And keep Alex in check because you know what he's like. Also bring the kids and visit because I won't have anyone there and Jackson can be too much sometimes. You know Meredith Grey you are a brilliant mom and a brilliant surgeon. He'd be so proud of you." Ava says looking at Meredith.

"He'd be proud of you too. It works both ways too you need to come back and visit. Look after yourself and the kids. And if it's as rubbish as people say it is you can always come back." Meredith says while Ava smiles before the two of them hug one another.

Alex and Jo join the two of them since they were heading off on their honeymoon. Ava quickly hugged Alex which he returned. "You behave I don't want any calls to get you out of prison and we've got a spare room so I expect you both to visit. Look after each other and look after mer she needs her person." Ava says looking at the newly married couple who smiled at her.

"We will and you behave too. We'll be there before you know it. Don't worry about mer and Amelia I've got them. Go be great Shepherd like you always have been." Alex says causing Ava to smile before Mark ran toward her.

Jackson put the twins into their car seat while Ava held Mark. The two said their final goodbyes to everyone as it was just Alex, Amelia, Meredith, Catherine and Richard with them now. "Well the twins are asleep are you ready to get going?" Jackson asks before Ava nods putting Mark into his car seat.

Ava got into the passenger seat while Jackson got into the drivers seat. The two waved goodbye before Jackson intertwined his hands with Ava's. "In all the good and the bad that's happened here it's still home and maybe someday we'll be back." Jackson said looking at his wife.

"I love you Jackson Avery." Ava said looking at her husband.

"I love you Ava Shepherd-Avery." He said smiling at her before the two had set off waving once more at their friends and family. It was a new beginning as well as a chapter ending. Sometimes things end so better things can come along.

A/N- Well after almost two years this book is officially complete. I want to thank everyone who has read this book it means so much knowing you enjoy them. This book helped me so much over the last two years. I found my passion for reading and my passion for greys anatomy which is my absolute favourite show.

I loved writting Ava's character and seeing her story. She's definitely been through a lot but now she's off with Jackson and their kids in L.A happy. Anyway if you don't know I've got two other greys anatomy books that I will be uploading to again. I've taken a break for a while after losing my motivation but I'm back and I've got some other books in the work.

I'm also a huge Harry Potter fan and love reading those fanfics. If anyone has any good fanfic recommendations I'd love to know with Harry as the love interest. I also love ones from the maurader era with Remus as the love interest.

I've got two Harry Potter fanfics in drafts but I don't know if I'm going to publish them. One has George Weasley as the love interest while other is a Harry Potter fanfic. I've also found a love for another show 9-1-1 which I've got a story in my drafts. I will be publishing that probably in the summer.

I want to focus on my other two books and hopefully at least finish one of them by the end of this year. Anyway I want to say thank you for all your support and I hope you've enjoyed reading this as much I've enjoyed writing it.
