We Are Never Ever Getting Back together

Ava sat opposite Jackson with Mark on her lap as they were in a cafe a short walk away from the hospital. Ava looked over at Jackson as he sat eating his waffles as she chuckled at him.

"Answer this honestly do you love waffles more or me and Mark?" Ava said to him as Jackson pretend to think about it as Ava kicked him underneath the table as they both laughed.

"Mark you still love me don't you?" Ava said looking down at her 6 month old son in her arms as he smiled.

"Dada." He said as he turned his attention to Jackson who smiled as Ava glared at him causing him to laugh.

"I carry him for nearly 9 months and give birth to him and he prefers you thanks buddy." Ava says with a small smile on her lips as Jackson leans over and kisses her as she kisses him back.

"I still love you the most." Jackson says as Mark tried reaching for the food on the table as Ava watched him.

"I think he's got you obsession with waffles too." Ava says as she takes a piece of Jackson waffles and feeds it to Mark as she looks up at Jackson.

"He really likes that waffle." Ava says as she uses a napkin to wipe mark mouth as they finish up before heading to the hospital.

"Meanwhile, Dr. Shepherd-Avery will..." Meredith explains to the group working on the Annie and liz.

"Be making a mold of the cranial bone flap,so then we'll be able to replace the missing part of the skull..." Ava says as she explains her part of the surgery.

"Which we will cover with a flap for now.But I'll place skin expanders so we're able to fully cover the entire defect." Jackson explains to them as he looks over and smiles at Ava.

"Okay, I will take care of twin "A."Amy will take care of twin "B."" Derek explains as Amelia cuts him off.

"Dr. Shepherd." She says as Derek turns to her.

"What?" He asks looking at her.

"No, I mean my name is Dr. Shepherd.You said "Amy," and that makes me sound like some sorority girl tagging along on your brain surgery when, in fact, I am your co-surgeon." Amelia says as Ava rolls her eyes at her siblings as Jackson wraps his arm around her waist.

"Okay. I apologise.Everybody clear on their role? Uh, Shepherd-Avery?" Derek says looking at his youngest sister.

"Yeah, I'm good." She says as she smiles at him while nodding her head.

"Avery?" Derek asks looking at Jackson.

"Yeah, me too." Jackson says nodding.

"Amy... uh, Dr. Shepherd." Derek says as he corrects himself.

"I'm ready." Amelia tells him.

"All right.See everybody in surgery.Get some food, people.This is the last time you'll be eating for a while." Derek says as they nods at Ava turns to Jackson.

"Hey I'm going to go see mark before surgery are you coming or shall I meet you in the cafeteria?" Ava asks him as Jackson checks his phone.

"I've got to check on a patient so I'll meet you in the cafeteria and give mark a kiss from me." Jackson says as Ava nods before pecking him and heading up to the daycare.

"Dr. Webber,did I hear that you called a meeting of the board?" Jackson says as Ava walks into the cafeteria.

"Yeah, I did." Richard says to him as Ava walks over to the two of them.

"Well, next time, could you please make sure I'm available and so is Ava?" Jackson says to him as Ava looks between both of them.

"Well, we needed to discuss some issues with the foundation.Your input wasn't needed." Richard says to the Avery couple.

"Excuse me, sir.If you have something to say about the foundation,you say it to me.I would appreciate that." Jackson says to him.

"Okay, well,here's what I'll say, then.I built this place
with certain ideals in mind,and I'm not gonna let them be trifled with.We got in bed with your foundation too fast.It's clear that there are
certain fundamental differences of philosophy.It's not gonna work. It's a doomed marriage." Webber says catching the attention of the all the doctors in the cafeteria before walking away as Ava turns to Jackson.

"You okay?" She asks him as he nods before pulling her into a hug and kissing the top of her head.

"So, where is Yang on the appeal?" Richard asks Meredith as he sits beside her in the gallery.

"I don't know. I haven't spoken to her since she left." Meredith tells him as she watches the surgery.

"Well, where is she?" He asks her.

"She's visiting a hospital in Switzerland." Meredith tells him.

"She's what?!Is she looking for another job?!You see what you did?You go and lose the good ones one by one." Richard said snapping at Jackson as Ava grew frustrated.

"She just went to go give a talk." Meredith tells him.

"I hope you're happy.Thanks to you and your mother, pretty soon,the only doctors working here will be you and knox." Richard continued to snap at him.

"This isn't on him. He's not his mother or the foundation. Just because your having personal problems doesn't mean you have a right to bring it work and take it out on my husband. And you brought the Harper Avery foundation here you went to Catherine not Jackson. So your ashamed and you're embarrassed but that's all on you not him so I'm sorry but stop blaming him for what Catherine did or what you did." Ava snapped at Richard as she walked out of the gallery with Jackson following her.

"Well that was intense." Jackson said as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her into his chest.

"I'm sorry he was just getting at you when you didn't ask for any of this and your amazing for stepping up like you did and you don't deserve any of this. And I love you." Ava says to him as Jackson smiles at her.

"Thank you for that and I love you too." He says as he leans down and captures her lips as she smiles into the kiss.

Ava was getting mark changed as Jackson walked into their room. "That's all the cleaning up done." He said as he fell onto the bed dramatically.

"Mark your daddy is a drama Queen." Ava says as Jackson sits up as he began tickling her as she laughed.

"Stop it Avery." Ava tried to say as she was out of breath and laughing as he continues to tickle her as he tickles marks stomach earning a small giggle from the boy.

Ava climbed into the bed as she picks up Mark as Jackson placed himself beside them on his side of the bed as Mark laid on Ava's chest.

"We're lucky to have you Avery." Ava said as she looked at Jackson as he shook his head.

"No I'm the lucky one to have an amazing wife who I share the most amazing little boy with." Jackson says as he kisses both of their heads.
