Short on Time

Chapter 11

        "Dude. That was insane." Cisco said. "I mean, even I'm having a hard time getting mad at you for dirtying up my suit."

        "Okay, when are we going to start considering it my suit?" Barry asked.

        "Yeah why is it only your suit. I helped you sew the thing." I said as I finished up my grading.

         "I'd be comfortable calling it our suit." Cisco said. 

        "Tonight was the fastest you've ever run." Caitlin said. 

        "Yes, your training is paying off." Father said. 

        "That couple is alive tonight because of you." I told Barry. 

        "I can still get faster. I know I can." Barry said, I rolled my eyes. 

        "And you will one day, I'm sure. But for today, I'd say you've fulfilled your save quota." Father said. "Proper rest is what you need, as do we all." 

        "Better yet, what we all need is a proper drink. Who's up for a round?" Cisco asked.

         "Oh, dude, it's... Friday... It's movie night with... Joe." Barry said glancing at me. "I can't."

        "I have to go and finsih up some homework I left at my apartment." I said grabbing my bag. 

        "But I'll see you guys tomorrow, all right?" Barry said walking out with me.

         "Bye." Barry and I said together.

        Barry walked me to my car and we stopped there. "Movie night?" I asked.

        "I had to think of something... I didn't want to tell them that I'm taking you on a date. Not that I wouldn't want them to know... I just thought it would be nice to not get teased." Barry said quickly.

        I laughed. "It's fine, as long as I'm not interfearring with something with Joe?" I asked.

        "No, Joe and I only have movie nights randomly." Barry said.

        "So I'll drive home and change, come pick me up at say 7:30?" I asked opening my car.

        Barry smiled and nodded kissing my cheek. "I'll see you then." He said than ran off.

        I got into my car and quickly drove to my apartment, there I changed into a nice red top, some jeans, boots, and a my wool coat. I had just finished putting my hair back a little when my doorbell rang. I smiled and ran to opem the door, there stood Barry holding a bouquet of flowers. 

        I smiled as I took them, quickly smelling them. "Thank you." I said.

        "You ready?" Barry asked.

        I nodded and grabbed my bag. "I'm ready, where are we going?" I asked.

        Barry picked me up. "It's a surprise." He said running.

        He stopped running and we were in front the entrace to Central City's food festival. I looked around amazed as I took in the different smells of food around me. "Wow." I said.

        Barry stood next to me anxiously. "Do you like it? We can always go see a movie or something." He said.

        "Are you kidding me? This is amazing Barry, thank you." I said.

        Barry's face broke out into a grin. "Great! So what do you want to try first?" He asked gesturing to the food stands.

        "Hmmm, let's try Italian." I said grabbing his hand and dragging him over.
