Short on Time

Chapter 55

The smell of eggs woke me up, along with bacon. I rolled over and climbed out of bed, grabbing the bath robe that I tossed on my rocking chair and putting it on I walked into the kitchen to see my wonderful husband cooking breakfast for me. 

"You are amazing," I said as I kissed him.

Barry turned around smiling, "good morning."

"What you making?" I asked as I looked at the mess he made.

"Omelets with bacon," Barry said. 

"You are doubly amazing," I said.

"Well seeing as how the baby has the ability to make you throw up anything that isn't bacon, I thought this would be a good combo," Barry said.

I rubbed my very swollen stomach, "hopefully this child will be agreeable enough to last through the wedding."

"Right, your friend Oliver Queen, how do you know them again?" Barry asked.

"I tutored Thea when I still lived in Starling City," I said as I started picking up the mess. 

"Well, it is sure to be a party," Barry said kissing my cheek.

"This is fancy," Barry said amazed as we walked into the massive mansion where the wedding was going to be held.

"The Queen family goes all out," I said as somebody came and took my coat.

"Ginger," a voice said to my left.

"Thea," I said happily as I hugged her. When I pulled back I saw images of Thea in a red suit, of her fighting with Barry dressed up with something, of a group of people facing off against a man.

"Hey, you okay?" Thea asked when I swayed. 

"Is it the baby?" Barry asked alarmed as he grabbed my arm.

I shook my head, "yeah. I'm fine though."

"You sure," Barry asked concerned. 

I kissed his cheek, "I'm sure."

"Uh, Ginger," Oliver Queen said walking up. I looked at him and had a bunch of flashes again, this time him shotting Barry with two arrows into his back.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Um, I was wondering if I could get your help with something," Oliver said.

"Why?" Barry asked looking at Oliver suspiciously.

"Oh it's just Laurel is panicking and nobody can really calm her down. I remember Ginger being great at it with Thea back in the day. Her being a school teacher and all," Oliver said quickly.

"Okay, I'll be back in a minute Barr," I said following Oliver. 

"Do you know what's going on?" Oliver asked me.

I looked at him as things started to fall into place, "I do. This just..."

"I know," Oliver said. "I'm sorry, Ginger. This isn't real."

I looked behind Oliver to see Barry talking with Felicity, "I wish it was."

"Me too," Oliver said touching my arm.

"Where are the others," I said wiping my eyes. 

"In the back," Oliver said.

I nodded, "you're going to get Thea?"

"Yeah, I'll meet you there," Oliver said.

I went to the back of the mansion to find Diggle and Ray, "this is all very weird."
