I hummed along with Josh Groban as I did the dishes, Barry was off doing something. I was just drying things off when Barry came in. "Hi babe," I said to him as he came and wrapped his arms around my waist. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," Barry muttered.
I glared at him, "you and I both know that's a lie."
Barry ignored me as he took the dish from my hand and put it away, "aren't you supposed to be resting? You have the surgery tomorrow."
When I last saw my doctor, he and his team suggested doing the surgery as soon as possible. Apparently, I wasn't reacting as well as they would like. So I was slotted for the soonest surgery. "I just can't eat, doesn't mean I can't clean."
Barry took the towel from me, "why don't we do something other than cleaning?"
I gave him a suspicious look as he picked me up, "what are you planning?"
"You'll see," Barry said with a wink.

I fidgetted as I waited to be called back, Barry wanted to be here, but I told him to go and do his job. I would be fine, I'm beginning to wish I took him up on his offer. "Ginger Clancy," a nurse called.
I stood up and followed her to the room, small talk ensued and before I knew it I was in a gown on the bed with an IV in my arm. I was just about to nod off when I saw a familiar face, "Barry?"
He smiled at me as he sat down next to my bed, "Hi Ginger."
"What are you doing here?" I asked as my eyes drooped.
"Thought you might want me here as you fall asleep," Barry said.
"You are so amazing," I said to him as he took my hand.
Barry smiled sadly at me, "not as amazing as you. Wake up soon, babe."
I kissed his hand, "I love you."
"I love you too," Barry said and then I fell asleep.

Everything felt hazy as I came to, and the first thing I saw was a vase of flowers and a teddy bear next to it. I smiled when I saw that they were Sunflowers, "Barry just left. He had to deal with a problem," Iris said from beside me.
"Hey," I said turning to her, only biting back a groan from a dull pain.
"Hey yourself, you shouldn't be moving," Iris said with a kind smile.
"How are things?" I asked ignoring the pain as I sat up. Iris smiled, but it seemed forced, "what's wrong?"
"Barry just seems to be having problems, but he won't tell me," Iris said. "At first I thought it was because of your sudden surgery and Jay's death, but it's something else that he won't tell me. I'm sorry, you should be resting."
I put a hand on hers, "it's fine. You're worried about him, I understand."
Iris smiled, "I'm worried about you too. Barry said you should be healing faster."
"I'm fine," I said.
Iris gave me a look and then her cell phone rang, "Hey Wally. What?! I'll be right there."
"What's wrong?" I asked concerned.
"King Shark attacked the house," Iris said grabbing her things.
My eyes bugged out, "the walking Shark dude is back? Why didn't you say anything?"
"I'll have Barry explain it," Iris said.
I waved my hand, "go. I'll be fine." Iris gave me a grateful smile before running out. The doctor came in, he said the surgery went well and that we should see the outcome soon. There wasn't much to say after that, and I just waited for somebody to show up. Eventually, after a few hours, I fell asleep with a book on my lap.
