Short on Time

Chapter 13

        

         "Professor Stein!" Barry shouted.

        I sighed in relief and stopped what I was doing falling backwards. "What are you doing here? You can't be here! Get her out of here now!" Martin/Ronnie said.

         "Please, look, Ronnie's still in there somewhere." Caitlin said. 

        "All those people Clarissa I won't let them die! It's better I end this now." He siad holding up the gun I knew he had. 

        "We can separate you! We can stop the explosion." Barry shouted as he came and picked me up. 

        "How?" Martin/Ronnie asked.

         "A Quantum Splicer. It's a fission device designed to bombard your atoms with as much energy as they experienced in the particle accelerator explosion." Caitlin said. 

        "It should be enough to separate you." I said breathlessly. 

        "Please, Professor, you have nothing left to lose." Caitlin said, he nodded.

        "Get her out of here first though." He said looking at me.

        Barry nodded and then ran. "Stay here." He said kissing my forehead.

        "Don't have the energy to go anywhere else." I said breathlessly. 

        Barry ran back to Caitlin and Ronnie/Stein. I watched from the distance, I couldn't actually see anything. That is until a huge mushroom cloud appeared. I stood up as quicklyl as I could and started running away from it, the next thing I know I'm on the ground with Caitlin and Barry next to me. 

        Barry helped me up as we looked at the mess around us. "Oh, God. The nuclear explosion. There's no telling how much radiation we were exposed to." Caitlin said. 

        "But that's normal." Barry said.

         "What's going on?" I asked.

        "There's no radiation." Barry said. 

        "How is that possible?" I asked, I looked at Caitlin quickly. "Barry go." I said pointing to Caitlin. 

        Barry nodded and picked her up. "Let's go." He said running away.

        I minute later he cam back and scooped me up. Barry ran us to were Ronnie was, all there was that was left was a crater. "Did it work? Did you separate them?" I asked looking around.

         "I don't know." Barry said as Caitlin walked into the huge hole. 

        I went after her followed by Barry, I saw as she crouched down in front of who I'm hoping is Ronnie. "Ronnie?" She asked. "Tell me your name." 

        "Ronnie Raymond." Ronnie said smiling. "Cait. It's me." 

        Caitlin smiled and they kissed. I did a little weird dance and Barry laughed. "Uh, pardon me." Martin said, and I danced again. "Obviously, I need a change of clothes." 

         "Nice to see you in the flesh again, Professor Stein." Barry said going over to him. 

        I kept on doing my funky dancing. "Lu, I get it you're happy." Ronnie said with a laugh. "Stop showing off."

        I gave him a playful glare. "You are alive, I am happy. Now shut up and kiss Cait." I said.

        Ronnie shrugged and did as he was told. Barry came over and scooped me up in his arms. "Let's go home." He said.
