Short on Time

Chapter 57

I snuggled into the warmth by my side, but the warmth chuckled. "Good morning Mrs. Allen," Barry said in my ear.

I looked up at him sleepily, "good morning Mr. Allen."

"How did you sleep?" Barry asked.

I yawned, "like a baby." 

"That's good because we need to get to STAR labs," Barry said rolling out of bed.

"How long have you been awake?" I asked curiously as Barry zoomed around getting ready.

"An hour," Barry shrugged.

"Why didn't you wake me up?" I asked.

"I just wanted to enjoy waking up with my wife," Barry said kissing me.

I smiled, "you're cute."

"Yes very cute, now get ready while I make breakfast," Barry ordered.

"Is this the kind of treatment Cisco got?" I asked.

Barry shrugged, "I guess, but he didn't really appreciate it."

"Well I love it, honey," I said as I walked into the bathroom. I quickly took a show and then just pinned up my hair, it'll dry eventually. It wasn't even that cold right now in Central City, even though it's almost Christmas. I must say I am very proud of myself for managing to hide the Christmas presents from Barry, he keeps speeding around my house to look for them, but he'll never find them. 

This year I got Iris a nice bottle of perfume, she was saying she had run out of the one she used to use. Once I had gotten Iris' present she and I decided to make a new tradition where we went Christmas shopping together since Barry bailed on us. 

For Caitlin, I got her a new bag, with a built in compartment for her med kit she always managed to bring around. I also had a gift for Jesse, I figured she would enjoy some spiffed up energy bars and a pair of headphones to drown Harry out. I also picked Felicity up a pair of killer shoes, you can never go wrong with those.

For Joe, Barry and I together got him a nice watch. Plus I made him some dinners that I had Barry sneak into the freezer. Cisco got an autographed poster from George Lucas, I need to thank Sara for that one later, plus a gamers coffee mug. Harry, I went for the classic favorite scotch and a new baseball cap since his went missing during one of our big fights. For HR I got him a bottle of baileys and an espresso machine. I figured he could figure out how to combine the two.

The twins got an assortment of tricks to use. Individually though, for Chloe, I got her fuzzy socks, a fuzzy blanket, and a fluffy sweater. Camren got a classic video game from the 90s, it took me a long time to find that. For my parents, I had a painting made from a picture of their wedding since they just hit their thirtieth anniversary. For Julian, even though I am still livid with him, I got him a rather dapper looking sweater and tie, figured he would enjoy that. Along with a slew of tea. 

Lastly, for Barry, I made his present a bunch of little things. I wrapped it in a cardboard penguin box that I made. I basically put a lot of sweets and notes in the box. Along with an ornament for our first Christmas together as husband and wife. There were small pictures of the team in there. Of us on our wedding day, a group picture with Ollie and Kara, and my favorite is a picture of myself and Barry standing with Henry. 

"You hungry?" Barry asked as I stepped out. 

"Starving," I replied.

"Good, because I think I made too much," Barry said.

I looked at the display he had in front of me and laughed, "are you trying to make me fat?"

"Never," Barry said as he sat down with me. Barry ate about five times as much as I did and then he speed did the dishes and then we were off to STAR labs. "Holy winter wonderland," Barry said as we walked in.
