Chapter 19

Joe handed me my mikes hard lemonade as we waited for Barry to arrive. "Where's Barry?" Eddie asked.

"He should be here any second." I said not concerned.

"I sent him out for Pizza!" Joe said.

"What?" Eddie asked, then Barry ran in. "From Coast City?"

"Supposedly the best in the west." Barry said putting the pizza's down.

"They are, and pretty much my greatest weakness. Blame Ronnie." I said taking a slice.

"Why did I not think of this before?" Cisco asked.

"Come to papa." Joe said taking a slice.

"Caitlin?" Barry asked.

"I'm not hungry." She answered.

"More for me." I said taking a bite, then moaning. "Tastes like heaven."

"At least now I know how to make you happy." Barry commented laughing.

"Okay, six months of investigating Harrison Wells has led us nowhere, so we're going back to the beginning to see what we can find out." Joe said.

"What does that mean?" Eddie asked.

I pointed to Cisco, Joe and I. " Road trip, baby." Cisco said.

"Joe, Ginger, and Cisco are going to go to Starling City." Barry said.

"Starling City? What for?" Eddie asked.

"To investigate the car accident that Dr. Wells was in with Tess Morgan 15 years ago." Joe said.

"I don't understand." Caitlin said.

"Why?" Eddie asked.

"Dr. McGee said that after Wells's accident, he became like..." Barry said at a loss for words.

"A complete stranger." I said.

Barry nodded. "Just a different person entirely."

"Because the love of his life died? You of all people can understand how grief can change a person." Caitlin said pointedly to Barry.

"Caitlin, we believe that Dr. Wells is the Reverse-Flash and killed Barry's mother, and he may have done the same thing to Tess Morgan." Joe said.

I smiled gently at her. "We have to learn everything we can about that night."

"See where it leads us." Joe finished.

"Oh, um, can you cover for me with Dr. Wells?" Cisco asked.

"You mean lie?" Caitlin asked.

"I told him I'm heading back to visit Thea and grab some things I forgot, which is true." I said simply.

"Yeah." Cisco said.

"I need some air." Caitlin said walking out.

"Whoa hey, Caitlin..." Barry said.

"Doesn't look like Caitlin's with us." Joe said.

"No, she's with us." I said.

"I'll talk to her." Barry said.

"What do you want us to do here?" Eddie asked.

"Business as usual while we're gone." Joe said.

"Copy that." Eddie said.

"Well, I want to wish you good luck over there, but I'm also scared of what you might find." Barry said to Joe.

"Scared is a good thing. Scared keeps us alive." Joe said.
