'I warned you not to insult my wife! And you don't only insult her you let this bastard do the same! Today I will teach you both a lesson!!! Where is that good for nothing fool!!!!', his father's voice thundered as he got close to the door.
He was already feeling murderous from school, this man really really shouldn't tempt him.
'I already told you he went to school and he's not back. If you or your so called wife don't want to be further insulted then stay in your home for God's sake!! Stop coming here and looking for trouble!!'
'This is my house!!',
'And you never fail to remind me of it!!! The fact that I pay my rent means nothing to you!!! So please save it!',
He wanted to interfere but chose to hear the end of this conversation. So his mum had been paying rent since? So why was this fool claiming he put a roof over their head?
Wonders really never end.
'Ehe? So you can now talk back at me Ihuoma? Ehe? So your wings are now grown? I will clip them off for you!'
(don't know if I gave her a name previously, but if it's not please let me know . Gracias!)
'Touch me! All these years I've kept you quiet and you've beat on us as you liked! Touch me!!! I dare you touch me!!! I'll show you my God is not sleeping!! Metu m aka!! Nke iji buru dimkpa!!',
He knew had to make his presence known before that coward touched her and he was right on time to stop his hand from hitting her.
He wasted no time in twisting the same hand painfully and using that momentum pushed him out of their house and into the streets where he pushed him out.
'If you're too spineless to face a man then don't bother coming here ever again. It's not uncle Ugo that you should be worried about but me. Try this again and you won't go home with just minor humiliation, you'll bleed next time', he banged the gate and walked back to his mother who was visibly shaken but holding up.
'Nwa m, bia rie nri Biko. Don't let your food get cold'.
She took him to the kitchen to get his food and broke down when he hugged her.
They were going to be fine.

'Mummy!!! ... Mummy I don't like this thing that Ebuka keeps doing o! Why would he go and play in my room?! Look at the mess he's made and he left it like that!!',
Her mum kept flipping through the newspaper she had bought earlier.
Today was Sunday, service was over. But appointment Esther and Ebuka had plans to disturb her peaceful afternoon.
'Mummy you're not saying anything', Esther whined.
'Go to his room and vent all these things you're venting here Biko. Anwu Chaga n'iro. The weather is hot',
She heard footsteps stumping away and soon the smack down began as they exchanged words and Ebuka was forcefully dragged from his room by Esther to go and fix hers.
She chuckled as she wondered for how long Ebuka would let Esther pull him around.
Yes she was older but he was gradually getting bigger than her.
Well, she'll watch them battle it out. There's only so much that mummy can do.
'Is that where you saw that extension?! Ewu! Better return everything back to how you saw it o. Cause it'll be me and you very soon!',
'You'll just open your mouth and be talking up and down. Shebi it's because I agreed to come in the first place?!! Abeg abeg abeg free me! O ginizi?',
Time to intervene, she thought but the sound of a slap quickened her footsteps.
If that boy laid his hand on his sister he'll receive a good dose of sense this hot afternoon.
Opening the door she saw Ebuka vibrating and Esther glaring at him.
'Talk to me like that again! Idiot! Will you put that extension where you saw it and arrange my bed like you met it! You think it's by growing tall?',
'That's enough. Fix up her room, and next time you come to use her room arrange it before you leave. Esther follow me', she left without waiting to know if the instructions were followed or not.
'Go and prepare dinner. Check if we have every for ofe ukazzi, if not just make ogbono soup'.
Esther left to do what she was told.
At dinner the siblings reluctantly sat at the table for their dinner, a look from their mum prevented any form of argument or snide comment from being said.
