I spotted Nandini there. Since she was empty-handed, she didn't find it either. So, the last option we had was looking at the palace. My first instinct was right that Vijaya should be hidden in the palace.

"How are we getting in?"

"Umm... we'll figure that out while we get there. We seriously have no time at all."

"You seriously have no backup plan. How to get into the palace or how to get out of there."

"Yeah, didn't have time for it. Every minute here counts, Nandini. Can't stay here waiting to make an elaborate plan. My plan is my instincts."

"The guards will never let in any stranger."

We had reached the palace. It was like a fort. Built on a raised hill on a strategic location that allowed them to see any approaching army. There were five security pillars all around the fort. The main gate had around 14 soldiers. It would be impossible to use illusion and get through the place. Neither am I so proficient that for 3 minutes, I would be able to keep the entire fort in illusion. Like a snake coiling itself over a straight pillar, the fort was created around the hill in that way.

I took a few breaths. One has to be calm, patient and determined to reach their goal. I am not leaving Patala without that bow come what before me. It was a matter of my own respect and my wish to learn at Gurukul. Failure is not an option. Failure would mean losing the only chance of learning in Gurukul. I couldn't let down my brother. I cannot let down Guru Vashisht. I couldn't let down my mother. I cannot let down Sona and Harsh. I cannot let down Nana.

My confidence and attitude wouldn't betray my ruse. My mind had already come up with the way I can get inside the palace. Taking a deep breath, I turned to look at Nandini. I offered her my hand. She was a bit confused. She took my hand. I walked right ahead towards the gate. "Just look relaxed." I told her.

"Yes, who are you?" The guard asked us as we reached the main gate.

"I know Bhargavi. She had told me that if I ever need help from Guru Shukracharya, I could go to him. I needed some help from him. So, I thought I would come here to meet him." I told him. I gave a sweet smile and a look that made me seem like a harmless little girl.

"I'm not sure if I'm informed about any of her friends arriving."

"I'm from Bhargavi's family. You could say we're really close. So, by that nature, I thought I could approach Guru Shukracharya. She says that if I tell him that I'm Bhargavi's family member, he would instantly help me. After all, Bhargavi is his beloved sister." I quickly made up. Before you blame me, I'm not lying. I'm her daughter. Maharishi Bhrigu once said that a few of her friends approached him with her name and he helped them. What I did is called selective omission.
