Caution: Blood, Gun Use, Death
Louis had been sitting in the car with Henry for awhile now. It was a slow day, well it was until Peterkin showed up and explained a case to Henry, one involving an unsolved death.
Louis heard the words "Big John" and "Murdered" and could piece the two things together.
Big John, John B's dad was never lost at sea, he was murdered and left to die alone.
So when Peterkin asked Henry to be her deputy on this case, Henry said yes very easily. Truth be told Henry never really liked the Cameron's. After one too many times when Ward would buy his way out of problems, Henry had enough and begin disliking how easily money could solve the guys problems.
Henry wanted Louis away from it all, he really did, but Peterkin said that it was an emergency, that it needed to happen now. And so as quickly as Mr. Brook could, he took his bulletproof police vest off and put on Louis before telling Louis to move to the back so Peterkin could drive and Henry could be in the passenger seat.
When they arrived Louis was starting to become more anxious because he saw a plane than what looked like the twinkie infront of the aircraft.
Louis knew that John B shouldn't be here.
Louis couldn't imagine how John B would take the news, if only Louis knew that John B already figured it all out.
When the police car stopped, Peterkin was the first to exit, she gave a quick nod to Henry before grabbing her gun and pointing it at the murderer.
Henry turned around to Louis quickly, giving the boy clear instructions on what to do.
"You stay in the car. You here me? You don't get out of this car until we have him in handcuffs and headed this way. Once you see me point at you, thats when you leave the car. Only then. Got it? Do not leave until I give the signal." Henry demands in a quiet voice.
When Henry took Louis out for the day on his job he was wanting it to be busy, but not filled with a case that dealt with murder. If Henry were to know how serious today would be he would of never brought his son with him.
"Papa... your vest... I don't need it"
"You don't know that Louis. I rather know that you are protected."
"What about you?" Louis mumbles.
"I'll be fi- shit, Louis I got to get out there. Peterkin needs some help. Stay put, got it!" Henry says before exiting the police car, pulling out his own gun and pointing it at Ward.
When Henry saw the two teens it made him even more concerned. Sarah shouldn't have to see her dad get handcuffed and John B shouldn't have to be next to his fathers murderer.
Henry was just thankful that after a few demands from Peterkin that Ward was finally starting to learn his fate, and did as Peterkin told him.
Peterkin moved to place the handcuffs on the murderer and once it was on the man, Henry moved beside Peterkin, ready to help her if Ward decided to make any moves.
However, if Henry stayed where he was moments ago, than maybe he would of seen the young adult hiding behind the plane. Maybe Henry would of seen Ward's son who had a gun in his hand. But, Henry didn't, Henry was more focused on making sure the murderer would be put away for life and protecting the Sheriff.
It wasn't until a gunshot went off that Henry realized all the mistakes he made. The bullet went straight through Henry because he didn't have a vest on, than hit Peterkin and got lodged there.
It was as if the world stopped when the gun went off. Everything was quiet. The world could still hear the echo of the shot. Then all hell broke loose.
Henry fell to the ground, grabbing the wound. The bullet traveled right though his stomach and hit his spine. It was a deadly shot. He knew that.
