THE NIGHT WAS ALMOST OVER. Celeste and Cedric danced away to a slow song and once again took a break. He went to get drinks when Hermione came over to point out Viktor and Cedric were talking, most likely about the second task.

"I wonder where the boys are. Poor Parvarti didn't deserve to get ditched neither did Padma." she frowned, and Celeste had a feeling that the boys were in for a scolding.

Luckily they found them sitting down. Hermione took the empty seat next to them and fanned herself with her hand. Celeste sat next to the girl.

"It's hot, isn't it? Viktor and Cedric have just gone to get some drinks."

Ron gave her a withering look. "Viktor?" he said. "Hasn't he asked you to call him Vicky yet?"

Celeste gave him a disgruntled look.  "What the hell's wrong with you?"

Her friend seemed to agree because she was already startled by what Ron said, "What's up with you?"

"If you don't know," said Ron scathingly. "I'm not going to tell you."

Celeste looked over at Harry to see him shrugging.

"Ron, what ─?"

"He's from Dumstrang!" spat Ron. "He's competing against Harry! Against Hogwarts! You ─ You're ─" Ron was obviously casting around for words strong enough to describe Hermione's crime. "Fraternizing with the enemy that's what you're doing!"

Hermione's mouth fell open.

"Are you serious you daft moron?" Celeste snapped, ready to grab Ron his locks.

"Don't be so stupid!" said Hermione. "The enemy! Honestly ─ who was the one who was all excited when they saw him arrive? Who was the one who wanted his autograph? Who's got a model of him up in their dormitory?"

Celeste wondered where this behavior was coming from until she realized it was out of jealousy.

Ron chose to ignore this. "I s'pose he asked you to come with him while you were both in the library?"

"Yes, he did," said Hermione, the pink patches on her cheeks glowing more brightly. "So what?"

"Do you honestly think that Hermione can't score a date? Especially Krum? News flash Ron, there are boys and girls that have the hots for her."

"What happened ─ trying to get him to join spew, were you?"

"Ron shut up!" Celeste glared.

"No! I wasn't, if you really want to know, he ─ he said he'd been coming up to the library every day to try and talk to me. but he hadn't been able to pluck up the courage!"

By now Hermione was blushing so deeply that she resembled Parvati's robes.

"Well, that's his story," said Ron rashly.

Celeste gestured for Harry to do something. But he merely ignored her.

"What the hell is your problem now?" Celeste snapped, finally having enough of Harry's stand-offish behavior.

It seemed like they were now breaking away from Hermione and Ron's argument.

"Seriously Harry what's up with you lately? Why have you been ignoring me?" Celeste's eyes blazed in anger.

"Oh go back to Cedric why don't you if you don't like how I've been acting these couple of weeks!" Harry retorted. His face was practically green with envy.

"What does Cedric have to do with anything? He asked me to the ball and he ─ I don't even get why you are even mad. You're the one that started to ignore me out of the blue!" Celeste stopped talking momentarily to think her words.

Harry noticed the hesitation laced her voice and opened his mouth to say something but someone broke him to it.

That being Cedric Diggory, "Finally, I've been looking for you, Viktor's looking for you, Hermione."

The said girl looked like she was on the verge of crying in frustration, but gave Celeste and Cedric one last smile before shooting glares at Ron and Harry.

"You two better clean up your acts," Hermione said and left. "Viktor and I will wait for you," she said to the couple.

Cedric smiled and kissed her cheek, "I grabbed you a glass of fruit punch."

"Thank you," Celeste said with a kind smile that was washed away by the dazed look of hurt on Harry's face. She pushed away that unknown feeling bubbling inside her as Cedric guided her away from the boys not before saying some few acknowledging words to the boys.

The boy who lived watched the way his arm wrapped around her securely. Closely than they originally always acted before and that's when it hit him.

"Oh."
