THERNICY

The two days at the cabin went better than I anticipated and now we were driving back to the beach house.

I was riding with my favorite twins. Technically the only twins I know but you get the point.

Mercy and Jaden we're now almost official but I couldn't help but notice how low Terry had become after they gave us the news.

Naturally, he'd have been the one making all the nasty but still romantic comments about how good they look together and stuff like that.

"Do you guys think it's okay to use different cars, I mean it'd be more fun if we just used like a huge van or something of that sort?" Inquired Mercy, which came out as a general thought but Norah and I knew she just wanted as much time with Jaden as she could get.

This vacation was only going to last for two weeks. More like of a preparation for Lucy and Sage's wedding next month in California.

Weird places? I know but these guys enjoyed beaches more than kids having ice cream on a beautiful hot summer afternoon.

"To be honest it really is boring!" Sighed Norah as she took her twin's side regardless of the hidden reason to the outburst.

"Stop whining you two! It's great to get a little time away from them. We hardly spend time together like this, there's always a guy hanging around every single time we go on vacation. Driving back is our only Alone time! So it's better to enjoy this boring ride, okay?" I tried to reason but each of them just gave me their 'you're-so-not-fun' look and I couldn't help but burst out laughing at how ridiculous their sulking seemed.

The driver probably thought we we're losing out screws right now as we all laughed out lungs out at our weirdness.

***

Driving into the familiar gravel route, I could see the beautiful peach colored mansion ahead. It was surprisingly intriguing each time we drove here.

This was our third time coming to the beach house but it was our first to venture into the Tillamook forest.

I know that sound weird but we'd never had this much vacation time together before.

It would only last for three or four days and never the entire bunch before. Either only five or six of us would make it and usually those who make it would still be called in for an emergency or new project at work.

"We're definitely heading for the beach to watch the setting sun scenery!" Lucy stated excitedly.

"Heard it's quite romantic!" Norah wiggled her eyebrows in attempt to entice Mercy and I cause we all saw it enough times to agree that it was romantic and the only reason to visit the sight right now was to relish the romantic scenery as often as we could.

It was the most magical scene at this time of the afternoon I agree but there was something about the scene that felt wrong if one's mind wasn't in the right line of thought.

"Guess I'll have to pass this one out. I have something to take care of first before dinner!" I motioned to the guy's vehicle which was just a few seconds ahead of ours.

They looked a little surprised as to why I was gesturing to the guys.

"Terry seems a little off lately so I just want to make sure he's okay." I trailed off thinking about the different reasons why this was a horrible idea but decided to stick to the only positive outcome that crossed my mind before it slipped away.

"You know Lucifer can handle himself okay right? I don't think there's anything to worry about." Norah spoke casually as if it wasn't her crush she was talking about.
