Chapter Fifty-Seven;
Taylor backed away from him, her eyes wide in shock and fear, her chest heaving up and down as she breathed in and out quickly, she looked as though she was about to faint, she stopped moving abruptly before leaning forward and being sick on the floor. I ran towards her as she spluttered and choked, feeling numb...I was shocked but apart from that, I felt no emotion...
A few hours earlier...
"Argh, Jay hurry up!" Bri whined from my living-room I just ignored her, she was the queen of getting dressed at a slow pace and now she knew how it felt to be on the receiving end of waiting for someone take so damn long just to slip on a dress. I had bought it ages ago when I went out shopping with Janet but just never had an event to wear it to I never really went out that much anymore, how could I anyway when I had Janelle, I loved off this dress though, it was a short hot pink dress that tightly clung onto my shape as it was kind of stretchy. I was done anyway, I'm not Bri. I peered at my reflection as I put finishing touches to my make-up, Bri had helped me straighten my hair I was getting excited that my hair now fell past my shoulders, something I never thought it would be able to do again after Shane cut it.
"Jaida..." I heard Bri's voice say as she burst into my room, she then stopped on her tracks as she looked at me a big grin stretched across her face. "Sh*t Jaida!" she breathed out. "I forgot you could look like that,"
I looked over at her, "Is that supposed to be a compliment?" I laughed.
Bri laughed with me, "Ok that came out wrong..." she said, "Oh my God Jay, you look so nice!" she exclaimed.
I shook my head at her as I lifted up my hair with one hand so I could take a look at my earrings, they were long earring that dangled off my earlobes, "Bri, do you think I should wear hoops instead?" I asked her unsure of the earrings I was wearing.
"You and your bloody hoops." She commented before glancing over at my ears. "Ooh they're nice, where did you get them from?"
"Daniel bought them for me," I grinned as I let go of my hair and fanned it out with my fingers.
"How are things with you two anyway?" Bri asked as she picked up my mascara and started to apply it in front of my mirror.
"Good," a smile played on my lips as I started clearing up the mess I had made while I was getting dressed.
"Just good?" Bri asked me as she looked around the room, "Where's your spray at?"
"On the dress table are you blind?" I smirked as I made my bed.
"Yeah I think your short-sightedness is rubbing off on me," she said as she reached for the Impulse.
"Hush," I laughed.
"Yeah so back to Daniel," she swiftly returned to the subject. "Why haven't you two..."
"Us two...?" my voice trailed away as I failed to understand what she meant a few seconds later I realised what she was getting at, "Oh..." I said.
"Yeah oh," she repeated, shaking her head at me and laughing.
I laughed at myself sitting down on my bed and actually thinking about it, "We're taking things slow," I answered carefully.
Bri raised an eyebrow, "How long has it been since you two started dealing, eight months...?"
"Six," I corrected her.
"Same thing," she said breezily. "And you two STILL haven't beat, what are you two waiting for?"
"I'm just not ready Bri, that's all." I shrugged, but the way she was saying it...it was making me feel like there was something wrong with me and maybe there was a reason behind why I just didn't want to get close to him in that way.
