When Jaida Met Kadeem - Part Six
Chapter Nine;
Three Months Later:
♥;
It's now January and I was turning fifteen in a couple of days, the way I was getting excited!
"So what do you want to do for your birthday honey?" Auntie Donna asked me.
"Erm, maybe go out to dinner somewhere...nothing big, I'm only turning fifteen." I shrugged.
"You're going to be a big girl now." She smiled at me.
I smiled back weakly.
"I'm a big girl." Keisha said.
"I know you are darling," Auntie Donna laughed at her daughter who grinned back and carried on slurping her noodles.
"I wanted to talk to you two about something." Auntie Donna announced, looking nervous.
"What?" I asked, knowing I wasn't going to like the sound of this. "You actually gave up more than one child for adoption?" yeah I was still pissed at that. Ramal wasn't staying with us anymore, but he had now permanently moved back to England, he has some nice flat a thirty minute drive away and he comes round regularly and we go round to his flat sometimes...ok, I'm not even going to lie, he's an ALRIGHT person but the thing is I can't forgive him. I don't see him as a Dad still and I can see he's desperately trying to get me to like him; it's been three months why doesn't he just give it up man shit! Uncle Omari was coming back in a month, he knew all about the baby and guess what I found out? Uncle Omari and Ramal were bare tight back in the days and that's how Auntie Donna and him started doing a ting. This shit is so mixed up.
Auntie Donna stared at me unamused, and then she decided to sit down.
"We found him."
"What?" I asked, in shock.
"We found our son," she sighed, running her fingers through her hair.
Keisha was playing about with her food not really listening and I just sat there staring at my Auntie while she stared back at me her face expressionless. I knew there was more and it wasn't good news because there was no smile on her face and she just looked depressed boy.
"What's his name then? Where does he live? Are you going to go see him?" I asked questions because she wasn't saying anything.
"He..." she paused, she looked up at me. "His name was Tyrese Dayton."
I sighed. "Was..?" my whole body was shaky.
My Auntie pursed her lips together as if she was stopping herself from crying. "Yes...he died four months ago." She said quietly, barely above a whisper.
Tears started stinging my eyes; I sniffed hard and looked down at the table.
"It's all my fault." She said, her voice sounded thick. "If I kept him..."
"You couldn't have though," I interrupted. "You were so young; you could barely look after yourself at the age of twelve."
"But..." she stopped; "I feel like it's all my fault..." she shook her head and wiped a tear that had escaped from her eye with the back of her hand which was shaky.
"Is he in heaven with Auntie Janice?" Keisha asked, I looked at her startled, forgetting she was in the room.
My auntie sniffed, and smiled a wobbly smile at her daughter before walking over to her and picking her up. "Of course he is. His mother told me he was a good boy, got good grades and was caring." She told me and Keisha before walking out of the kitchen still carrying Keisha making her way up the stairs to put her to bed.
