When Jaida Met Kadeem - Part Seven.

Chapter Twelve;

The following Tuesday I woke up with the biggest grin on my face. Yup, it was my birthday. Fifteen, about f*cking time!

Auntie Donna and Keisha walked into my room, Auntie Donna carrying a tray with some pancakes and a glass of orange juice and some big muffin with a candle on it, they were both singing 'Happy Birthday' I laughed and sat up on my bed, rubbing my eyes. They came over to my bed and put the tray on my lap.

"Happy birthday honey!" Auntie Donna exclaimed making me laugh, she gave me a hug. Keisha was picking on my pancakes, kmt typical black child...just interested in the food! We watched her laughing. She looked up, "Oh, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" she screamed. "Jaida, can I have one pancake please?" she asked.

"Yeah, you've eaten half of it anyway," I laughed.

Auntie Donna left the room then came back handing me my present and an envelope that felt really fat, "The card is from Ramal." I smiled and opened the present first! She got me an i-Pod touch, I hugged her. "Thank you Auntie Donna!" I grinned.

"You're welcome honey," she chuckled. Then I opened the envelope, it had six fifty-pound notes in there wow I got excited like any black person who sees money then I took out the card and read it:

Happy Birthday Jaida,

I hope you have a good one!

Lots of love Ramal xxx

P.S - Don't waste that money on just anything!

I laughed and put my presents away and ate my breakfast then went into the bathroom to get ready for school. I decided to make an effort today, it was my birthday and I wanted to feel like royalty! I got dressed in my uniform, and curled my hair leaving out a side fringe, then stuck the huge '15' badge that was on the front of the card Ramal got me onto my school jumper.

"You look nice." Auntie Donna commented when I came downstairs. The doorbell rang as I picked up my school bag. Auntie Donna went to open the door and I saw Bri, Krystal, Gemma, Renai, Larissa, Kadeem, Curtis, Jamal, Francis, Rex, Damien and Jordan standing at my door.

"Oh my..." my Auntie chuckled."Looks like the whole school is here to wish you a happy birthday Jay," I stared at all of them in shock.

"Happy birthday to ya, happy birthday to ya...happy birrr-thday!" the girls all started singing, Bri did a little dance. "Come give me a hug Jaida!" she ordered.

I walked up to her and hugged her laughing.

"Have fun at school Jaida, bye kids." Auntie Donna said.

"Bye Donna!" they all said. I could've sworn I saw Rex wink at her. I screwed him.

When my Auntie closed the front door they all started looking at me funny. "What?" I asked.

Then they all started attacking me, I screamed, half laughed as well. I was receiving some painful birthday beats boy! After a few minutes my man saved me, putting his arms around me and giving me a tight hug and a sweet kiss on my lips. "Happy birthday baby." Curtis said in my ear.

"Thank you!" I grinned and looked over at Kadeem who winked at me. "You look nicer than you usually look today," he complimented me as we walked to the bus stop. I smiled and gave him a kiss on his cheek.

I had a good day; I was centre of attention and felt special. After school we went to Rex's yard and had a mini birthday celebration as I said I didn't want to do anything big for my birthday this year...after all I was only turning fifteen.
