Chapter Twenty-Nine;

You know when you wake up and you just feel so happy, you're finally at that place when everything is going good for a change, for the first time in a long time I was happy...me, Jaida La'Shanay Harris had a reason to smile. Then I heard shouting coming from downstairs, my eyes snapped open and I looked beside me to find Kadeem wasn't there, I frowned and stumbled out of my bed and walked towards my bedroom door opening it and there was a scream from Keisha which made me run down the stairs to find Shane pushing Kadeem against the wall. "SHANE!" I shouted, running down the stairs, "What are you doing?!" I demanded to know trying to get in between them but my auntie stopped me.

"Shane get out of my house!" my auntie shouted, looking helpless.

"You've been f*cking my girl haven't you? It's too late to try and get her pregnant, she's already having my yout," Shane shouted at Kadeem as he grabbed hold of his shirt, Kadeem pushed Shane off him and punched him hard across the face the impact was so strong Shane staggered backwards and fell on to the hard wood floor. Keisha started crying and I ran to her and started comforting her. "I don't like Shane," she whimpered, while I tried to calm her down, stroking her hair. "Shane just go, why you even here?" I asked him, "You're just causing trouble."

Shane scrambled onto his feet, wiping his bottom lip which had started to bleed with one swift movement with the back of his hand, he looked up at Kadeem and started chuckling, "You're dying," he simply said. He looked up at me, "Jaida, no words can describe how sorry I am -"

I laughed at him in disbelief, "You are not serious!" I shouted, "Shane, I don't want to hear your crap right now, just get out the house. Look, you're making Keisha cry," I looked down at my cousin who had tears freely flowing down her cheeks, my auntie picked her up and took her upstairs, "When I come back down, I want him gone or I'm calling the police," she called over her shoulder.

I shook my head at him, "Just go," I said.

"Kadeem you think you can just walk in here and take my place yeah?!" Shane shouted, walking towards him again, "Are you forgetting who I am? What I do?" he started cackling loudly.

Kadeem took a step forward so their noses almost touched and he started laughing in his face, "Remind me," he simply said, shrugging his shoulders. Shane's face hardened and they just stared at each other for a moment before Shane laughed bitterly, "So it's like that yeah?" he asked in a quiet voice. "Turn my girl against me and helping her to bring up my baby, you think Shane's just going to sit back and relax and let you do his job yeah? You must take man for a d*ckhead, I was going to let you off lightly init because you've been my guy from day, I gave you a little warning but you didn't want to listen, took man for a pr*ck when I tried to be nice..." he shook his head. "Just know this isn't over," he said as he walked towards the front door.

"Shane, just accept that I don't want to be with you anymore," I shouted, getting irritated.

Shane looked at me, his face expressionless, "It's not even about that anymore," he said, looking at Kadeem who held his gaze steadily. I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair which was knotted. Shane opened the front door, "I'll see you later, Jaida." He said then walked out the front door shutting it softly.

I couldn't take this anymore, Shane was trying to ruin my life if things don't go Shane's way then he'll do whatever he can to make it go his way. Kadeem left shortly after Shane did and he was quiet, I knew when Kadeem was angry and I didn't like it because it was like I was looking at a totally different person, he didn't broadcast his anger to the world like Shane would but he'd sit back calmly, his face relaxed but if you look into his eyes they're just empty, when he spoke he'd speak in the same tone and he sounded lifeless, that's how he was acting when Shane left, I tried to make him breakfast, buss convo but nothing worked so I eventually gave up. When he left he planted a kiss on my forehead and said how he'll call me later, I sighed and closed the door not knowing what to do. After a while I decided I should talk to Shane, try and knock some sense into his head, so I went upstairs and had my shower and got dressed, a long white and black top, jeggings and flat white shoes I tied up in a mess pony tail...no make-up, who was I trying to impress? I got my black leather bomber jacket in case it got cold and my hand bag which had my wallet, keys and the essentials inside, then I left the house without saying bye to my auntie or Keisha, my mind to was too focused on getting to my destination.
