Victoria opened the door, annoyed that someone else was cutting short her lone time. When she saw her sister at the door with a murderous glare in her eyes, she rolled her eyes and slammed the door shut.
Melanie was fuming. The way Victoria dismissed her like she was nothing, was making her even angrier than she already was. Without invitation she pushed the door open and walked inside the house.
"Who the fuck invited you in?" Victoria asked, raising her eyebrow. Her hands were clenched into tiny fists, and she was fighting to keep her anger under control.
"No. What the fuck did you do to our father? Do you even have a heart in that ice cold body of yours?" Melanie yelled out. She couldn't believe what her sister did to her parents.
"So what? You came here play wonder woman? Is that your game? I did what I had to do." She calmly explained. Not that she wanted to give more explanations than needed.
"You could have done something else. Something that doesn't destroy our family."
"Oh please, like you give a shit. Go back to your pursuit of whatever the hell you're looking for."
"You bitch." Melanie yelled. She raised her hand to slap her sister, but Victoria caught it on time.
"There are things you have no fucking clue about. Don't come in here acting like you know everything. You know shit. You only pretend to know."
"I can't believe you. You stand here so high and mighty, pointing fingers at me, like it's my fucking fault. Yoongi not only cheated on me with you, but he also blacklisted me. My life is screwed because of you. Father started drinking because of you."
"That's not my fucking problem. Each with their own shit to bury. Yoongi did nothing. I did it." She didn't. Victoria had a feeling that Yoongi would pull a stunt like that, so she wasn't that surprised, but it didn't mean it sat well with her.
"Can't you see that all you do is destroying this family? Our family? How can you be so cruel?"
Victoria shrugged. "What exactly do you want from me? You thought what? That you'll come barging inside my home and demand things and I'll automatically gonna do that? Are you delusional or something?"
"Your home?" Melanie looked at her as if she suddenly went insane. Her entire body was shaking. "I've picked up everything. I picked up the house, the fence, the fucking furniture. I was supposed to be living here. Not you. You're just my replacement. You took the company from our father. You took my man away." Melanie yelled.
"He wasn't even yours to begin with. Get. The. Fuck. Out. Of. My. House." Victoria yelled, which surprised everyone, including her sister. Victoria never raised her voice, much yell.
She grabbed her sister's arm, opened the door and pushed her outside, closing the door right in her face. She pinched the bridge of her nose and fought the tears that threatened to escape her eyes.
She stopped in her track and stared down her husband. "You're gonna remove her from the blacklist." She demanded.
Yoongi smirked. "I won't."
Victoria took a menacing step towards him. "My darling husband, I don't think you have a fucking choice." She suddenly felt tired. Too tired to care, too tired to fight back, too tired to keep up with her persona. She took a deep breath, her eyes changing to a cold stare as she turned around and walked in her room without further words said, not caring what Yoongi or Hoseok thought.
"Did you really blacklisted Melanie?" Hoseok turned his attention to Yoongi.
Yoongi shrugged. "Yeah. I did. I don't even feel guilty about it."
"Why do you think your wife defended you?" Hoseok asked, tilting his head.
"I don't know. She's confusing." Yoongi rubbed the back of his neck, to dissipate some of the tension that he suddenly felt.
"I think you just found out her Achilles's heel." He whispered.
Yoongi raised his eyebrow. "Enlighten me."
"Jealousy. You can use it to your advantage and you might get the results you want. Although I don't think you should even bother, more so when you have feelings for someone else."
"What do you know about my feelings?" Yoongi demanded to know.
"The love you felt for that girl in high school, was pure, once in a lifetime."
"Just leave. I have a wife to take care of." The smile Hoseok had, disappeared. "We're good."
Hoseok beamed at his words. He turned around and hugged his best friend. "Thank you brother."
Yoongi smiled and patted his back. "Close the door behind you."
In all honesty, Yoongi didn't care that Melanie was hurt, he didn't care what Victoria did. He went to the bar, poured a glass of whiskey in two glasses and walked inside Victoria's room without knocking. She was on her bed, trying to read her magazine. Acting like nothing even happened.
"What are you doing here?" Victoria asked. Unless it was about sex, Yoongi never walked inside her room.
He handed her the glass. "I thought you might need it."
Victoria scoffed, but took it anyway. "Why? Just because I raised my voice doesn't mean I need your pity."
Yoongi rolled his eyes. "This isn't pity. Consider it a peace offering for the moment."
Victoria smiled bitterly. "Peace offering." She took a sip of the liquid and closed her eyes as it burned her throat. "You were never one to play with words. What brought this on?"
He shrugged. "Just say thank you."
She raised her glass and winked. "Thank you."
"That's better." Yoongi smirked proudly.
"Wipe that smug off your face. Doesn't suit you." Victoria said dryly.
"Doesn't it bother you?" Yoongi suddenly asked after moments of silence. He sat next to her on the bed.
"What should bother me?" She raised her eyebrow.
"That someone else was supposed to be my wife. That you're living in a place where someone else was supposed to be the mistress of the house. That your sister picked up everything in here."
Victoria drank the rest of the content without a thought and she shrugged. "Conjuncture."
"Really? That's all you have to say?" Yoongi was stunned. The woman either had no feelings, either she hid them very well.
"What do you want me to do?" She asked in a low voice. As if speaking louder, would betray her feelings.
Of course she hated the fact that her sister picked everything. Sometimes she felt like an impostor sitting in that house. What else could she do? She pushed those feelings away from her mind and heart. She couldn't dwell on them, she'd go insane.
"Shout. Break something. Don't take it as if you have to."
"What good would that do? It would only make a fool out of me. It is what it is."
"So you're just gonna be like this? Resigned?"
"If you expect a reaction out of me, you might not want to hold your breath. I am who I am. I'm not gonna explain myself or apologize for it."
Yoongi shook his head and went to his own room. He was frustrated that he couldn't read her. Frustrated that he had no idea who his wife was. Frustrated that it didn't work as he planned.
