The past couple of days spend with Jimin, Ivy was over the moon. She did face a challenge in the form of a wanna be Barbie who thought the world revolved around her. She threatened Ivy, telling her that Jimin was hers, as if he was an object to belong to someone. Even though Ivy wanted to rip out her hair at the audacity to think that Ivy was some college girl easy to be persuaded by a few threats, Ivy kept her mouth shut and smiled at the girl and confronted Jimin about their situation together with the Barbie wannabe. He denied any sorts of involvement with the said girl, more or less calling her delusional for thinking that someone like him would be with someone like her. That was all the confirmation Ivy needed.
Ivy was brought back to reality by her phone. She looked at the number, she didn't recognize it. She picked up the phone either way. It must have been important. "Ivy speaking."
"Hello Ivy. I'm calling in behalf of Mr. Min Yoongi." A woman's voice answered.
"How can I..."
"It's about Mr. Park. You need to give him the approval he lacks." The woman demanded in a controlling voice.
"Why would I do..."
"I'm still speaking. Please listen, I'm in a hurry." The woman cut her off again. She seemed annoyed. "I don't care what Mr. Min had say to you that it made you doubt Jimin. He doesn't deserve it."
"How so?" Ivy managed to ask.
"Listen here. I'm a woman of few words, and I highly don't give a crap what that says about me. I'm gonna tell you the truth, like it or not." She took a deep breathe. "Jimin deserves that approval. He does throw a lot of parties, but most of the earnings go to a local orphanage, so I'd look into that if I were you. Secondly, more than 60℅ of his employees are locals, check that too. Thirdly, there is no doubt about his personality. He's a really nice person."
"Why do you take his side?" Ivy wondered if there was something between them, she was too afraid to ask.
"I'm just paying an old debt." With that, the line got disconnected.
'Who are these people?' Ivy asked herself. She couldn't understand why one was ready to bury Jimin and the other one wanted to save him. There was one thing she had to double check. What the woman said made her wonder if she knew exactly who Jimin was. It was easy to judge someone without knowing all the facts, rather than keep one's mouth shut and observe.
Now, she was on her way to interview his employees. She find it weird when she saw them interact with their boss. The workers treated Jimin like a friend, but at the same time, they were respectful of him, they knew their boundaries. It was weird. She hadn't seen anything like that. He had over fifty employees in that particular hotel alone. How did he managed to make them so loyal to him? At least one of them had to have something against him, yet she heard nothing. No rumors, no badmouthing, nothing.
She realized she might have judged him based on how media portrait him. All the tabloid were writing how he was a ladies man, how he was a ruthless businessman, a cold person. She believed it. Now that she had the opportunity to know him better, to dive inside his personality, to see him genuinely smile at something that brought him joy, she knew who Jimin really was.
He had so many layers. She had seen him angry, charming, happy, upset. Jimin knocked all her walls down. Should she just follow her heart and own her own feelings? Could she do that without being like the girls that threw themselves at his feet? Did she have a right to pursue him?
Right now, she had a job to do. She could focus later on her feelings for him. There was time. Ivy stopped first at the bar. Jimin introduced her to the bartender a couple of days, just so he knew not to charge her. Which she thought it was stupid since she could afford to pay for her own drinks, but Jimin cut her off. He explained that she was his personal guest and he was having none of it, she won't pay for a thing. Instead of arguing in front of his employees, she agreed.
