"That's it." Kim Seokjin sighed irritated by the younger's behavior. "Hoseok and I will take care of the things here, you need a vacation."
The younger looked at the older in disbelief. "What do you think you're doing?"
"Namjoon, this is not a request. It's an order." Hoseok spoke in a calm voice. "You're working yourself up to exhaustion. You can't keep going like this."
"Since when are my friends ordering me around?" Namjoon raised his eyebrow, an amused expression on his face.
"Since you're too heartbroken to think about yourself." Jin crossed his arms on his chest. His friends were so smart in business, but in matters of life they were clueless. "I talked to Jimin. He's waiting for you at his hotel in Hawaii."
"So you already took care of everything?" Namjoon asked in defeated voice.
"Of course." Jin replied, proudly of his accomplishment.
"I also talked to your pilot." Hoseok jumped in. "He's waiting for you. You have one hour to get to the airport."
"I need to pack." Namjoon smirked. "It takes more than an hour."
"Your maid already sent your bags." Jin winked. "You can find all the excuses you want, but it ain't working."
"How about the new project?" Namjoon raised to his feet. He knew he already lost his fight against his best friends.
"Jungkook is on the site. He is dealing with this for now." Hoseok mimicked Jin and crossed his arms on his chest too.
Namjoon ran his hand through his hair and sighed. "Fine. You won." He picked up his jacket and walked towards the door.
"Joon??" Jin called him.
"What?" Namjoon replied annoyed.
"This month, do not dare think about your ex. Or I will personally come and force you to have fun." Jin smirked.
"A month?" Joon gasped. "How can you expect me to leave my business for a month?"
"Of shut up." Hoseok pushed Namjoon out the door. "Go have some fun and forget about everything. We'll take care of the things here."
Namjoon had no other option, except to do as he was told. He ordered his driver to take him to the airport, where he got into the plane. He didn't want to admit it, but he really needed a good holiday. Since his girlfriend dumped him, he focused solely on his business.
He was heartbroken, but at least the girl was honest. Even he felt at times that their relationship got to rough spot. He wasn't shocked when she admitted she no longer had feelings for him. He was hurt, but the pain was bearable. He understood that sometimes people fell out of love.
He was grateful to her that she didn't push forward a relationship that was doomed. She was always honest with him, with what she felt. That was the thing that attracted him the most. She wasn't a gold digger and she was always there by his side when he needed her the most.
For the beautiful past and memories they shared together, they decided to remain close friends. There was no bad blood between them. And he was grateful for that. Not all relationships had to end with a feud.
It was Melanie's first day of her honeymoon. She was thankful that Yoongi kept his promise and allowed her to bathe in its beauty. The hotel was stunning and huge. It had around ten floors, and the interior was made to look like a museum. What impressed her the most was the room she was staying in. Her bedroom window was facing the beach and she could hear the sound of the waves from her balcony. She felt like royalty.
She stepped out the hotel and walked on the beach. Her feet were dipping in the hot golden sand. The waves were kissing the shore every couple of seconds. She looked at the horizon and it felt like the sky was melting with the ocean. The scenery was breathtaking.
Her mind traveled back to the man she left behind. They were supposed to walk on the same beach, together, hand in hand. They were supposed to live together as husband and wife, until death parted them.
She sat on the beach, close to where the sand and ocean met. She hugged her knees as she was thinking of the person who broke her heart. He was cruel. Her sister was cruel. How could they do that to her? A tear rolled down her cheek. She had to start everything from scratch. She had to take her own road. A wave of loneliness washed over her making her shrink in size.
She sat there more than a half an hour, contemplating on what she had to do. She hadn't planned everything and that was a scary thought. Not knowing where to start from. Not knowing where to go. She suddenly wiped her tears away and got up. She had to stop feeling sorry for herself.
"It's alright to feel a little lost sometimes." Her grandmother used to say. "But don't make it a habit of not looking out for yourself."
Melanie decided to pretend she wasn't hurt. She was going to pretend until it hurt no more. She was a brave woman. She was smart, strong and beautiful. She stomped her foot on the sand, proud of her new found determination.
"Jimin." Namjoon greeted his long time friend, a smile spread across his features while he hugged him.
"Namjoon. You finally came." Jimin beamed as he patted Namjoon's back. "I've prepared the best room for you. It has an amazing view over the ocean."
Namjoon laughed. "It's okay Jimin, you don't have to sell the room to me. I'm fine wherever."
"Shut up." Jimin jokingly punched his arm. "Since you are here to have fun, I'm going to throw a party. The most lavish one this island has seen. Go to your room and get ready to rumble."
"God." Namjoon shook his head. "You haven't changed a bit."
Jimin grinned. "Why change when I'm happy the way I am?"
"True." Namjoon smiled at his friend. He felt like he was a teenager once again. "Show me my room."
Jimin took Namjoon to his designated room, and he couldn't stop thinking how far they all had come. The problem was, their work split them in half. They were a group of seven, but their work made them take a different path. Min Yoongi was the first one to walk away from their friendship. He build his empire from nothing, but his personality changed at the same time as he rose up. He became a ruthless businessman and Namjoon's business enemy. He couldn't stop thinking what could have happened that made him that way.
Park Jimin was the second one to walk away, spending most of the times between his hotels. He had various hotels all around the world, but he was still the same Jimin everyone loved. He was the same happy kid he met in school.
Kim Seokjin was focused more on his family business. Though they were in the same city, they rarely had a chance to see each other. Plus, since his parents retired to the countryside, he also had to take care of his little brother, Taehyung.
Jung Hoseok didn't change much either. He wasn't interested in the business world. He had a small coffee shop and a dance parlor, where he spent most of the time teaching. Sometimes it felt like he didn't have anything else in life, except dancing, but he was happy. And if he was happy, his friends were happy too.
The youngest of them all, Jeon Jungkook, was his business associate. Even though he was still young, he had learned very fast how things worked and Namjoon was more than happy to give him a position next to him. What one couldn't do, the other one did it.
As for himself, Namjoon wanted to believe he was still the same geek he was in school. Though Jin would often say he had a stick up his ass as he wasn't that nice and frail as he once was. He didn't see himself as rude or mean, but he did toughen up. He had no other option. His parents didn't want to see him fail, and he didn't want to disappoint them.
"Be down at eight." Jimin announced as he left the room.
Namjoon sighed. It was going to be a long night. He didn't like to attend parties when he had a pile of work piled up on his desk. Then he remembered Jin's words. He really needed a break from his life.
