Melanie was pacing through the room, a nervous mess. After everything she told them, they didn't trust her. She couldn't blame them though, they didn't really knew her so well. All she wanted to do was to pack her things and leave. She was brought to her senses when she heard the knocking on her door. She wasn't shocked to see Taehyung standing outside.
"You look like shit." He laughed as he entered her room. "What did you break?"
"Gee, thanks for the support." Melanie rolled her eyes amused.
"Still angry?" He rose his eyebrow and laid on the bed.
"Nah." She sat next to him. "I can understand them to an extent. Tae, I don't want to go back to Yoongi."
"You won't." He put his head on her lap. "Namjoon likes you."
"I should leave. I'm not cut out for this. I still have to find away to live." Even though she was seduced by the beauty that the island provided, she still had to find a way to survive. No parents, no home and soon no money, there wasn't a way where she could avoid reality.
"Bitch did you hear me?" He turned his head and looked at her. "Namjoon likes you. All you have to do is like him back and you're set for life. Or date me..." He shrugged. He tried to hold his laugh in, but ended up laughing his ass off.
"Shut up dork." Melanie pushed him off the bed. "I'm not going to allow another man to get in charge of my life. I'm going to make it on my own."
Suddenly his phone ringed. He smiled when he read the text from his brother. "Let's go for a swim."
"Tae, I don't want to go swimming. I need to plan what the hell I'm going to do."
"I can always help you." Numerous times he tried to help her, only to be denied. She said that she was a big girl and she wanted to do things her way. Though it annoyed him like hell, he let her do whatever she wanted, at the end of the day he will always be by her side.
"I know. I don't want you to. Like I said, it's something I have to do on my own."
"Yeah, yeah." He waved his hand. "You still have two more days left. Might as well enjoy them."
Melanie ran her hand through her hair. "It's so little time. I don't know what to do."
"You'll figure it out as always, until then..." Taehyung said with a mischievous tingle in his eyes. He grabbed her and threw her over his shoulder. He wasn't going to allow his best friend to dwell too much in negativity.
When he finally put her down, Melanie swirled around and saw the boys playing in the water. The moon was casting it's perfect glow over the mass of water. What made her move forward was the sound of Namjoon's laughter. So powerful, so hypnotizing.
She was staring at him when Taehyung elbowed her. He was already naked, standing in front of her in his boxers. "You're too dressed." He winked at her and ran to the water.
When Namjoon's eyes landed on her figure, he froze at her sight. She was taking her dress off, remaining solely in her bra and panties. He gasped seeing her body, how she took small and unsure steps towards them.
He waited until she was at an arm length away from him. "Hello." She greeted him in a low voice.
"Hello." He smiled at her shyness. He didn't know when it happened, but all his walls were knocked down by her.
The way she would tilt her head and smile, her shyness, her cute little button like nose. And her lips to die for. Her soft skin and her glossy eyes, kept him high, as if she was his new found drug. All of her, intoxicated him in the most amazing way.
A splash of water touched them and both blinked in surprise. Jimin was laughing his ass off seeing their faces. "You should swim a little further." He winked.
Namjoon shook his head and splashed him back. Melanie swam to Taehyung. "Do you remember our play?" She told him with a wink.
Taehyung smiled and linked his fingers together. She put one foot on them, then with a jerk from his hands, she jumped on her back and dived in the water. Taehyung laughed, happy that his friend decided to be a good sport and enjoy herself.
Yoongi did quite a number on her. Changing her to fit his needs. Making her close to what Taehyung believed a pet should be. She couldn't even decide what to wear without her lover's input. Seeing her so free, he knew his friend will be happy.
The gang retrieved on the beach, making a circle next to the fire Jimin made. That particular part of the beach, was private. He paid a shit load of money to make his own side of heaven. Seeing his friends surrounding him, made his heart worm. The only one who was missing was Yoongi, and that pained him.
"Why are you sad?" Jin asked in a low voice, making sure nobody could hear them.
"I miss Yoongi." Jimin admitted. He wanted to reach out to him, he just didn't know how.
"I miss him too. Don't worry, he'll come around." Jin patted his shoulder.
Melanie and Namjoon were still in the water, away from prying eyes. When she wanted to walk out together with the rest of them, he took her hand.
Her arms were wrapped around his neck and her legs around his waist. "I like this." She admitted, though she wanted to hide her feelings.
"I like it too." He gave her a peck on her lips. She was glowing under the moonlight. "You're beautiful."
Her breath caught in her throat. The intensity of his gaze made her breathless. She hid her face in the crook of his neck. "Thank you." She whispered.
He rose his chin with his hand. He wanted to tell her so many things, yet it seemed like he couldn't voice them. Not yet. He wanted to make sure that it wasn't just an infatuation from his part. Everything happened way too fast, he couldn't mess it up.
"I'm serious you know."
Melanie sighed. If she would get too close to him, she might not be able to leave. She had to. She had to find a way to survive on her own. She knew that deep down, it will hurt to leave him. "Let's go to them." Two more days left.
They made their way to the rest of the gang. She wanted to retreat in the comfort of her room. She still felt like she wasn't a part of them. As if she was alone. Thankfully, Namjoon sat behind her, wrapping his arms around her stomach, his head leaned on her shoulder.
Even if the others were shocked at the gesture, they hid it very well. "Let's go on a date." Namjoon whispered in her ear.
Melanie turned her head. "Really?"
Namjoon nodded with his head. All the time they had spent together, most of it was in the bed. He wanted to hold her hand as they strolled around. To rent a boat and sail on the ocean. "Really." He replied amused. "How about tomorrow?"
"Okay." She agreed.
The rest of the night they spent in embraced, surrounded by friends and love. Even Jimin wormed up to her. Spending time with them, it was something she will never forget. She will never forget Namjoon either, but in the end, she had to leave them. She will indulge a little more in the new found feeling of familiarity and comfort. Just a little bit before she would be completely alone.
She did have Taehyung in her life. He would gladly help her get on her feet. She didn't want to accept it. How could she learn to survive on her own, if she ended up being helped by someone else? No. It was something she had to learn by herself.
