~~{Suraki's POV}~~
I watched as Nosido carried Grant with him to the infirmary, seeing some of the blood running down his back from the fleshwounds but none of the injuries were too serious at least... But, I just can't shake that from my mind. Those ink tendrils coming out of his back just moments ago, they were just like in my nightmare... I hope the rest of that dream doesn't come true, or I may just lose it. I watched him for a few moments longer until he disappeared around a corner, letting out a low sigh before I turned my attention to the field. Can't let that bother me while i'm out there in the fight. If I keep thinking about it I'll be too distracted and lose.
I walked back to the prep room for class A, I still had at least ten minutes or so before my fight started. I twisted the knob and pushed the door open, seeing Yurin inside as our gazes met. He was leaning against one of the tables and likely waiting for me.
"What do you want, Goyami."
"To apologize... I shouldn't have been such a dick to you and Nosido, especially Nosido. It was fucked up for me to have been doing what I was doing."
"I'm gonna need more than an apology to see that you've really changed and want to keep changing for the better."
"I know..." Yurin sighed, looking down at the floor. We sat there in silence for a few moments, the only sound heard was my movements to lean on the table across from him.
"Is that all?"
"No..." He raised his head again, having a look in his eyes that I couldn't quite read. "The reason I'm so possessive of him is because... Back when we were in middle school, I used to be a bit of a bully to him. With three of my other friends, one day the script got sort of flipped I guess... My other friend who was sort of the leader, Blaze we called him. He decided to bring Nosido out to our hangout spot, it was a bridge over a dried out riverbed sort. It was kinda high up... What I didn't think was going to happen was that my friends started 'testing their quirks' as they called it. Beating him up a bit until he briefly fought back. Though that was the worst thing he could've done, lets say the testing turned into more of an attack. When they were done... Blaze told him to jump off the bridge."
"I'm assuming that since he's still here, he didn't do it?" Yurin gave me a certain look, one that I could read pretty well that told me my guess was wrong.
"He got up on the railing, and... And took a step right off." He slowly lowered his head, I noticed him clenching his fist tightly in his hand. "If I wasn't there that day to catch him... he.." Yurin let out a shaky breath, closing his eyes and shaking his head. "I barely caught him that day, and that was the day I realised he needed someone to defend him. He needed a crutch for the day. And ever since that day I would regret any time I ever got mad at him... But obviously things didn't work out since now we're here..."
I understood now why he was so possessive of him, he was worried. He had been Nosido's line of defense all the way until the end of their relationship, that doesn't entirely justify how he was treating him when the two first saw each other again but... I can at least understand him now. After I thought for a few moments, I changed positions to be leaning on the table beside him.
"If something ever happens between me and him, I'll make sure he goes to you... I understand now that you really care for him, so there's no reason why you should stay away from him." Yurin turned his gaze to me, almost in disbelief from what I said. I could tell he was holding back some tears.
"You... You mean that?"
"Of course I do, you need to start hanging out more. Get to know some of the others too, I don't think anyone would mind you joining our friend group." He slowly nodded, standing up and heading to the door.
