~~~{Pincer's POV}~~~
Class 1-B was situated in a break room that was designed for the contenders. Class 1-A and 1-B both had seperate break rooms so that we could discuss things privately.
As for what my class was discussing? I honestly had no clue. They decided to leave me out of their conversation while they all gathered at the tables, I sat in a bean bag chair I had pulled over to the corner of the room since some people were still pissed at me for quote-en-quote loosing the relay race for us. Not to mention 1-A also winning the cheer competition since they had the guys wear the girls cheer outfits.
Hopefully, we could at least get one win under our belt with this next competition. This would be the final event before the tournament style fighting matches.
"Hey, Pincer." I glanced my head up at the sound of my name, seeing Oliver walking towards me while rubbing the back of his head. "Listen... I'm sorry I blew up on you lile that about the relay race, I was just heated and didn't take it out right..." I could see (Satsuo) Shinso watching us over by the others before walking up beside Oliver.
"Its fine... I understand, I just hope it doesnt happen again."
"Trust me man, it won't." He paused for a moment, looking down at his shoes before looking back at me. "Want to get something to eat after Sports Festival is done?"
"I thought wr couldn't leave campus without supervision?" Soon, Satsuo chuckled softly, waving off my response. Literally too.
"Dont mind that, we know how to get off the Campus grounds without being caught." Satsuo chuckled a bit as he spoke. Soon stuffing his hands into his pockets. "So, you in or out?"
"I'm up for getting something to eat." I smiled faintly at the two, both of them returning the smile with their own before Oliver held his hand out.
"If you want, we can go to a gun range too to fuck around. Satsuo and I know a guy."
"Eh, I think i'll sit out on that one." I chuckled slightly and took Oliver's hand. Using it as leverage to pull myself up to my feet.
"Heh, alrighty. But you'll be missing out." Oliver smiled again, pulling his hand away after I was up to my feet. "So, when did your quirk manifest anyways? Im curious how weird it was to suddenly have those spider fang things."
"Actually, it wasnt thay weird. I had them since birth, theoretically too my quirk hasnt fully manifested yet either. So I could get other spider like things on my body too?"
"What, like more arms or something?"
"Beats me, only time will tell I guess." Oliver nodded, he had a curious look on his face as he listened.
Soon though, our converation was put on the back burner as we heard Red Riot speak over the intercom built into the wall in the break room.
"Allright students! Time for the next competition, hope you guys are great shots. Because we're gonna be doing some archery!"
"Archery?" I looked at Satsuo and Oliver curiously. Both of them just shrugged as our class soon funneled out into the tunnel again before heading out onto the competition field. Across the way we saw class 1-A walking over to the starting positions like we were. Minus that dark purple haired kid though, Satsuo's brother... I wonder what made him pass out like that?
Red Riot went on with explaining everything before we formed a line shoulder to shoulder. We were roughly fifteen feet away from a set of targets, our goal as a class was to see how many points we could earn before the five minute timer was up. Whichever class had the most points would obviously win. I'll be honest, I never had done Archery once in my damn life. So there was no way I was scoreing a good amount of points for our class.
Luckily though, a few of my classmates seemed to be pretty good at this stuff. When the timer started, Satsuo, Amaya, and Oliver had already had their bows drawn and fired arrows. Amaya's shots were bullseye's, Satsuo had one bulseye and two other shots that were close to the center, and Oliver had shots that were mostly around the bullseye.
Our class moved down the line in sets of three, trying our best to get bulseyes. If we couldn't do that, we at least tried to hit the target. My fingers were bleeding a bit since its much harder to pull back the string on bows than you would think, we werent using some kiddie bows. These were the real thing that actual competitions would use, the arrows though weren't as sharp as real ones though they could still penetrate well enough to stick into the targets.
It was down to the last 13 seconds, both of our classes were starting to rush since we were still trying to secure the most points. Thanks to the good start Amaya and Satsuo gave us, we were able to take the lead for most of the challenge. Though 1-A was catching up fast, they were only five points behind us and I was one of the last ones up to shoot. I raised the bow and lined up the arrow, taking a deep breath as I drew the bow string back.
"Come on, Pincer! You can do this!" I looked over my shoulder at a few of my classmatez who were trying to cheer me on. I smiled faintly at them before looking back forward at the target, I let out a slow breath. Releasing the string from my fingers as the arrow was sent through the air and barreling towards the target.
Bullseye...
I looked up at the scoreboard to see our number jump up ten points, my eyes widening as my class started to cheer. Soon enough, the siren went off to signify that the competition was over the final score bein Class 1-B winning with 145 points and Class 1-A with 132 points.
Before I could even process anything, I felt my legs get lifted off the ground as my class carried me above their heads. Cheering for me since I scored us our first point out of the competitions so far. Hey, we may not have won this part... But this was atleast some confidence boost before the main event.
It's time for the Sports Festival student v student tournament.
