Kabanata 48
Push
"See you soon, River."
I fixed his hair a bit. It's still a bit damp after showering. I touched his platinum necklace with my fingertips and he caught it. When he finally got hold of my hand, he brought it to his lips. He pressed his gentle lips on the back of my palm and smiled at me.
"Masakit pa rin ulo mo?" He asked, cocking his head to the side.
"No,"
"My hangover soup is more helpful than Rush's, right?"
"Ayaw ko mag compare!" Tawa ko. "Anyway, you should go now. Baka mahuli ka pa."
He's bound to Cavite today. He'll have an interview for his post in the PNPA PIO.
"Don't miss me too much, okay?"
I pouted. "That's impossible."
"Mapapauwi ako ng wala sa oras niyan."
"Unahin mo ang trabaho,"
"Of course," He smiled.
Tinitigan ko siya sandali. He's wearing a black v-neck t-shirt, dark green cargo pants with pockets and black belt, and a black combat boots.
He looks hot.
"See you soon," He whispered before turning his back on me.
He went home the same day, but he's immediately called back to Cavite the next morning because he'll be having another six months of training and supervised probation.
I talked to some of my professors back in UP Diliman too and received different offers to help them.
"You always make me proud, Lei. Kahit noon pa," Ngiti ni River.
I touched the screen of my iPad. I miss him so much. We're still buying time.
You really can't blame me for thinking this way. I don't want to go back to the phase in my life where I couldn't even have a single will to get up in the morning.
"You made me want to go after my dreams. You're the one who pushed me to go to College."
"My sister got violated by a certain heir of a well-known company in Manila...
"Sister..."
"My siblings, Riccini and Riva."
Tumango ako.
