Old Playful Memories

The staff heard screaming once again, this was a normal occurrence when doing their job, Chuuya shouting and Dazai trying to make him angrier. They got so used to the two's presence that they look forward to their bickering every day, they were such lively teenagers.

"ALRIGHT YOU'RE DEFINITELY CHEATING YOU JERK!"

"Ah, thank you for the compliment Chuuya~"

"That wasn't a compliment you bastard!"

"Hmmmn? But you clearly said I was too good a this game that you considered me as a cheater."
Dazai put his finger on his chin, striking a thinking pose

"Ughhh you are horrible!"

"I could say the same to you Chibi~"

The people that worked at the arcade stared at Dazai and the people he was with, confused.

"Oooh~!"
Ranpo hummed in happiness, looking at the snacks in the place where you need to use the tickets you won from the arcade games to buy them

"I'm going there~!"
Naomi pointed at a picture booth, dragging her brother with her.

"Dazai-san..."

"What is it Atsushi-kunnn~?"

"Could we uh-" he pointed at the machine where he wanted to play with Dazai, "—Play that game please?"

"Of course!" The edges of his mouth fell down the slightest bit, looking at the place Atsushi pointed to. He clasped his hands together and walked over with Atsushi.

"WHAT THE HELL- STOP STOP!"

"K.O!"
Chuuya banged his head on the machine, groaning loudly.

"What's wrong Chuuuuya?"

"Sh-shut up you bastard."

"Well Chuuya, seems you can't take back the bet we made that day, how sad. You're still my little doggy!" Dazai chuckled, hand over his mouth and the other pointing at Chuuya.

"Grrrr- another round!"

Atsushi noticed the way Dazai stilled for a moment when he mentioned how high two players' score were, nicknamed, 'Slug' and 'Mackerel'. Dazai stared at the leaderboard for maybe ten seconds or more, but Atsushi didn't make anything of it and just exited the leaderboard.

They played the game, Atsushi struggled and was in disbelief with how good Dazai was at this game!

"Eeeeeh?!"

"K.O!"

"Yeh-ay~!"

"You know what this means Atsu-shi-kun!"
He smiled devilishly at his subordinate.

"You have to say go be nice to Akutagawa-kun."

"Aaaaaaggghhhhh- Can I take back what I said Dazai-san?! There's no way I can be nice to a bad person like him— How are you even this good at this game?!"

"Of course I'm good at this game, I played this so many times with—"
The next words died in his throat.

"You can't take it back now Sushi-kun!" "Ughhhh!" Atsushi groaned. "Akutagawa isn't all that bad, you know." The other looked at him with a look that said What do you mean? "He was treated badly too, the people around him.." The people around him— Dazai himself. "Didn't treat him right either."

"Whatever you say, Dazai-san."

They spent two hours at the arcade playing games, winning snacks, laughing together, and a bunch more fun stuff. It wasn't long before it became night, resulting in them having to go home. But just before Dazai was leaving, somebody that worked in the arcade, Hatsune, stopped him.

"Oi, Dazai! Did you do something bad again? Did you break one of the games?!" Kunikida yelled at him, obviously angry. The worker's breath got caught in their throat with how Dazai just said to him, "Of course not Kunikida-kun~ This is such a treasured place to me!"

Kunikida smacked him. "I'm sorry for whatever damage this idiot has done—"

"No, no sir. It was..."
The person looked over to Dazai with a sorrowful look.

"Where is he?"
Hatsune and the others haven't seen Dazai in the arcade for 4 years, Dazai and—

"Whoever do you mean, Hatsune-san?"
Hatsune couldn't help the way how her mouth suddenly opened in shock.

"Dazai-kun..."

"Hatsune-san, We have to go now because it is getting late, it was nice seeing you again." Hatsune's heart felt like breaking. She'd gotten so used to hearing Dazai and Chuuya's voices those three years, their yelling, fighting and bickering, her and the others would watch the two play and fight eachother from the side, they'd call it free entertainment— But Dazai made no comment about him and Chuuya-kun.

"I see...Goodbye then."
Dazai smiled at her and walked away with his other friends.

The smile he gave her, so empty and forced. Young love never last forever I guess, they just get older.
