Chapter 14: South

Courtney's POV

"You remember that time we had to ride back from Rockaway beach in the back of that freezer truck?" Steve asked Bucky as the door opened.

Jeez, it was cold outside!

"Was that the time we used our train money to buy hot dogs?" Bucky asked.

"You blew it three times trying to buy that stuffed bear for a redhead." Steve said, smiling.

"What was her name again?"

"Delores. You called her Dot." Steve told him.

"She's got to be over a hundred by now." Bucky muttered.

"So are we pal." Steve said, clapping Bucky on the shoulder.

They smiled humorously.

Cute moment. Why did Steve have to kiss Shannon in front of Bucky?

"I'm surrounded by old people." I muttered, walking out into the freezing air.

I shivered as they followed and then walked up to stand next to me.

We entered the building and looked around.

"He hasn't been here long." Steve noted.

"Long enough to wake them up." Bucky replied.

We cleared the first floor and went to the elevator. It was loud and cramped, but okay.

Steve and Bucky were all up in each other's faces, I honestly thought they were going to make out or something.

Once we got out, I had a knife in hand, Bucky had a gun, and Steve had his trusty sheild.

Bucky went first, Steve covered him, and I took the caboose, probably because I was the most useless person here.

Something made a loud noise behind us and Steve shoved my behind his shield while Bucky aimed a gun over our heads at the elevator. Everything creaked until the doors started to open and someone revealed themself.

"Tony?" I whispered in confusion.

Steve kept his shield up and walked forward, leaving me by Bucky.

Tony took off the suit around his head.

"You seem a little defensive." Tony noted.

"It's been a long day." Steve replied.

"At ease, Solider, I'm not after you." Tony said.

"Then why are you here?" Steve asked.

"Could be your story isn't so crazy. Ross has no idea I'm here, I'd like to keep it that way. Otherwise I'd have to arrest myself." Tony said.

"Well that sounds like a lot of paperwork." Steve said, lowering his shield.

Tony scoffed.

"It's good to see you, Tony." Steve said.

"You too Cap."

"Alright, lets break up this heartfelt reunion, we have work to do, remember?" I asked.

They looked over.

"What? Let's go."

"We're going to have a talk about this later." Tony told Steve as they walked forward together.

"No we won't." Steve said.

We kept walking and finally reached our destination.

The lights turned on and we looked around. Bullet holes were in each of the glass containers, all of the super soldiers were dead.
