Sam's POV

Ring. Ring. Ring.

I picked up my phone. It was Steve.

"Hey Steve." I grinned.

"Sam." He greeted in a raspy voice.

"Steve, you sound a little hoarse, are you alright?" I asked.

"No Sam. I'm... going to die." He told me.

"You... die?" I asked, unbelieving.

"Even Captain America can't beat old age. I need you to do me a favor." Steve said.

"Anything. What is it?"

"I sent you a letter a week ago. It should be in your mail. I need you to give it to Courtney." He told me.

I looked at the pile of mail I had picked up this morning and noted that one of them was from Steve's little apartment.

"Of course. I'll get it to her. How long have you known?" I asked.

"A few months now. The doctors say I won't make it through the week." Steve told me.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't tell anyone. My time is coming. I don't want to spend my last days hearing how sad you guys are and being experimented on to fix it." He answered.

I nodded, "I understand. Will you have someone call me when it happens?"

"Yeah. Don't give her the letter until after I'm gone." He instructed.

I sighed, "We're going to miss you."

"I know. But I'll see you again. I'm just going to be with Peggy and my other friends for a while before we see each other." He reassured me.

"How are we supposed to do anything without our big guns?" I joked.

"The fact that I am going to be pissed if you mess anything up any worse than I did." Steve joked.

"Woah Steve, watch your language."

He laughed, but then it was interrupting by a fit of coughing.

"I'm going to go now Sam." He said.

"Alright then. See you later?"

"See you later."

I grabbed the envelope.

"Well, I suppose I should be on my way to Queens then." I muttered.

Courtney's POV

Mmm.

"Courtney?"

I opened my eyes, "Yes Damian?"

M.J. smirked, "A little confused are we?"

I rolled my eyes and sat up, my face wrinkling, "Ugh! I smell horrible."

"Yeah, you're covered in concrete powder and dried blood." She said.

I stood up and grabbed some new clothes, "I can't belieive he tranqed me."

"I can. That guy has anger issues." M.J. muttered.

"You understand why I call him Furious?" I asked.

She gave me a stern look, "You know he ranted at me because you ran off after calling him a furnace. If you ever do that again, I'm grounding you."

"Grounding me?" I asked.

"Yes. I'm in charge. Now take a shower." She ordered.

I scoffed, "I was taking a shower anyway."
